(Following on really from my thread about neutering)

What age would people consider their Mini to be fully grown physically? I understand that growth plates seal at different rates, hence my confusion ..... best to ask! Thanks.

Depends on the size, tbh. I would say 14-18 months.

heightwise, from 6 - 9 months BUT it can take another year or so for the dog to body up.

Fudge is 14 inches to the top of his shoulder at 5 months.

Would you say that he's already reached he's max height or will he keep getting bigger?

Hi,
Well I have just measured Barney and he is 16 inches tall, at 3 year old, my last little dog Frazer was only 13 inches, so we have got one long legged dog in Barney boy lol, but he so cute

Feel down the front of his front legs, if he still has knobly knees then he is still growing upwards. It would be unusual to have finished growing just yet, so it looks like yours will be a big boy.

After yesterday I finally understand how big Obi is in comparison to the dogs that were being exhibited.

It's funny when you go and see the show dogs, isn't it? I was petrified Maisy was too small, but she's the same size as all the other show bitches (apart from one teeny tiny one!) so my mind was put at ease a bit. Freddy is a bit over, but I've heard that they give about an inch leeway with boys above height, so I wouldn't worry my lovely.

We won't being doing Champ shows now that I've seen them. I was tempted to enter him into Darlington but decided against it now. Just gives me another reason to get a pup :D

With the kennel you have in mind you'll fit right into the show world! I cannot WAIT to see your new puppy, and yes, I'm talking as if you've already decided to get one because I think you haaaave! ;)

I was sat (a bit too long, judging by the colour of my nose) with some VERY knowledgable people yesterday and felt as though I had learned a lot. It's definitely something I'd be interested in doing long term.

That's the best bit; I went to a show last year with a girl from this forum and we were chatting to a lot of big kennels and having a really nice time, gained loads of advice, and it was a fantastic learning experience in the sunshine with the dogs! At one point a chap came up and we commented on how beautiful his dog was, and he went and got him and plonked him in my arms, it was so trusting and lovely!

Arthur is just over 18 months and we have noticed he has filled out more in the last few months although not grown any taller for quite a few months.

I was worried Daisy was too big, but she's only 12" at 6 months, so perhaps another inch to go and she'll be height :D

Tom - weren't they all so lovely!

I wasn't too keen on some that were placed, but the vast majority were lovely - esp that little puppy boy with the brown coat - shme he was so brown, everything else was bang on!
