I have only been here about 24 hours, not started work proper yet, just doing a spot of admin and then I'll probably go and start putting my sound recording kit together.

I'm in the Vegas of Thailand (Pattaya), it's a strange old place, not somewhere I'd choose to come on holiday that's for sure, although there's plenty to like as well, the sun and the food and the bright colours everywhere. I'm here to make a documentary, once we find a suitable subject, the film we initially came out to make sadly can't happen so we're currently doing research to try and find a good story to observe.

We did some 'research' the other night and I saw some things in bars that I'm not sure I EVER need to see again. For a while it looked like we might be going a film about gogo dancers from the girls perspective, something that has not really been done before in Thailand, but thankfully (at least from my perspective) it looks like that is going to be too difficult to do. Our current idea is that there is a controversial monastary not far from Bangkok that offers a detox programme for drug addicts. We are going to meet the head monk in a couple of days to see if they will let us film there.

I am slightly envious of your schnauzer sofa sitch Maty. I'm missing Honey's schnuggles already.

Having watched a documentary on Thailand's Ladyboys (& been very jealous if how stunning they are) I can imagine the type of bar you found yourself in!!!!

And so tomorrow the real work starts, with any luck.
Just gone 11pm and I'm psyching myself up to pack up my things for a location move, we're heading up to the monastery in the morning to meet with the high monk in the afternoon, he will (or won't) give us the go ahead to film there. Fingers crossed.

I've had an interesting and fairly relaxing time here in Pattaya, who knows what may be round the corner. Fairly exciting!

It is if you like flies. Haha. Been here at the monastery ten days now, and honestly, it's been pretty tough trying to make a film here. Still though, the surroundings are gorgeous. There are quite a lot of photos you can see of my time here on my instagram (if you use it) - username "mcbunnyman". I will write more of the blog when I finally get some time, been pretty exhausted since we started filming. Today was a 5am wake up to get here for 6:15. We have a new doggy friend here called tigerlilly, would like to be able to feed her, she's a sweet old girl.

I always think it must be tough fr dogs in hot countries. Is she a stray?

They're all sort of strays here. Well mostly. Some of them get fed and a certain amount of care, but nowhere near as much as our furry friends at home do. They come and go as they please, have their own little territories and largely get left alone by the Thai people.
