Re: Magic's 9th Birthday

Is it my imagination or do the affen's look to be more determined and "on it" than the schnauzers?

Re: Magic's 9th Birthday

Happy Birthday Magic... fab video. I have said it before but when I come back I am coming back as one of Leigh's dogs, such fun. Now am I going to be an Affenpinscher or Schnauzer, need to think about that one. :) My Otto has been playing with flower pots today.... stolen from the greenhouse and lit...

Re: Treats

Emma, in my experience of two schnauzers/3 dogs they had good stomachs until some sort of event whilst being on highly processed food. In the case of Oscar my first he had to have a stone removed from his stomach and also contracted hemorrhagic gastro enteritis and then he developed colitis and I ha...

Re: Suprelorin - Otto's experience

10 days since implant In the last couple of days I think I have seen the testosterone "surge" that is usually seen following insertion of the implant. I have deliberately kept Otto away from all unknown dogs since having the implant. He has had a grumble at a few dogs from the other side of the road...

Re: Ticks, Fleas and Worms

I have the spray not the brush and intend to spray on my hands and then rub in between Otto's toes in an attempt to avoid harvest mites this year. I think it is a smell that I will have to become accustomed to.

Re: My Wilson has gone

Melanie, it is just the worst thing to happen, so sorry for your loss. It is truly devastating and will be very raw for you. It does get better and I get great comfort from those things that remind me of Oscar, I went from not wanting to be reminded, not wanting to talk about it, to putting together...

Re: Any help with behaviour whilst out please?

Alex, if it helps, I let Otto have free run of kitchen/dining area once he reached 12 months. Having said this, the area was completely free of anything he could damage like table cloths, towels he could reach etc. and his bedding has always had to be indestructible because he loves chewing holes in...

Re: Any help with behaviour whilst out please?

Yes I agree with others, if he has been fine in his crate leave him in there. Wait until he is a little older and not bothered about bedding and other stuff etc. It will come. He is still a mischief maker at that age. :)

Re: Liver shunt. X2!

Hi Andrea, there seems to be a lot going on with little Pepper. I have absolutely no experience of these issues however just a few thoughts that are in my head after reading your post. Is any surgery really essential? The effects and after effects, pain medication etc. is going to put a huge load on...
