Snow/Ice and rock salt - beware!

Just a reminder particularly to all new puppy owners out there. In the snow and ice, avoid areas where rock salt/grit has been laid because it contains a chemical that when mixed with the ice/snow will severely burn your dogs paws. It is also toxic if consumed. Otto got a little on one of his paws l...

Re: Simple crate training question!

I would seek some expert help with this as she sounds like she is getting incredibly stressed and needs helps with dealing with the anxiety caused by being left alone and the relationship with the cat.

Re: Simple crate training question!

I would be leaving the crate door open for her and letting her have free access to the room. If her bed is in there she will I am sure be happy to take herself to it when she wants but I don't see the point of trying to force her to stay in with the door closed unless she isn't safe having free acce...

Re: Barking

Hilary, probably won't be any consolation at all but my neighbour has just visited with his female standard poodle and we chatted in the hall, Otto was in another room. As I expected, when they left Otto bolted into the hall and made it very clear than no such furry visitors are welcome. I haven't s...

Re: Barking

Hilary, I do think you need some expert help with this if you want a dog that will settle around other dogs in her own home. You have a dog that is nervous of being close to other dogs and the best advice when this happens is as said previously to limit the closeness to other dogs until she feels to...

Is he going out for a wee and poo immediately before bed? My 1st schnauzer when pretty much clean all night from day...

Re: Is my dog dying? Please

Oh dear Krystian, I am so sorry you and your poor dog is going through this. Hopefully your vet will shed some light on what to do next. Did the blood tests point to pancreatitis ?? Did the vet suggest a MRI scan to see if there was anything untoward? Could it be back pain? I wish I could help... A ...
