Re: Bringing home our first standard pup!!! Need your feedback!

Hi Daniel, Phoebe looks great - much bigger than a mini pup :) To answer your questions: Clip or Strip? My very first mini schnauzer was clipped and she went the palest of greys so my current pair are stripped, primarily to keep their colour. Do you groom your dog yourself, or take him/her to a groo...

Re: Dominance

I think you need to go back to basics with Jasper. Get the high value treats out and start the training again, just you and him - don't include the other dogs, just to re-inforce that good behaviour gets rewarded. As Julie says, you will have set backs - it's not as easy to train an older dog but ne...

Re: Barney has kidney failure Again

Hi Alison,

Thanks for the update but sorry that it's not better news. It's good to know that he's in no pain and is enjoying being at home where he's loved and you can take some comfort from being with him rather than wondering what's going on at the vet.

We're all thinking of you.

Re: New Member: Our Puppy Arrives In 3 Weeks

Hi Emma, Monty looks a handsome pup. You had quite a good first night and I'm sure he'll settle into a suitable routine for you if you're consistent with him. At his age, he'll sleep for a couple of hours after an hour of activity/play/training/eating. The vet and groomer will love you if you get hi...

Re: Hi I'm a new member and new schnauzer Mum,

Hi Susan,

welcome to you and Mitzi. She's adorable (all mini schnauzers are) and I think she already knows it. I think you'll find her more independent than a cavalier :))

Hi Alison, not out of the woods but moving in the right direction is encouraging. I hope Barney continues to improve.

I would love to add to our gang but having two can be enough when going out for walks/holidays.
Mike, I think I belong to the same school of thought as you. How many schnauzers do you need? One more than you currently have :)

Re: Rosie and Edie go on RAW

Thanks Leigh. When I weigh the food out, the difference is 12.5g each meal. It looks so insignificant!. I guess it's the same effect though as an extra Jaffa cake each day :))

Re: Holiday in Norfolk with our dogs

Leigh,

Super photo's and what a beautiful place you got. I had a look at their website and loved the line "dog friendly doesn't mean dog eared". The houses look wonderful. I don't know that area of Norfolk at all having never been further south than Cromer.

Re: Rosie and Edie go on RAW

I last weighed the girls in early Jan and on passing the vets yesterday I popped in to weigh them. Edie has put on 500g, now weighs in at 9.2kg and no longer has a skinny, gangly appearance. Her chest has deepened and shoulders broadened and I'd say is more or less fully developed. She has a very ob...
