Re: Coco update

Hi Karen, It's great to hear about Coco's exploits. I think schnauzer pups are expected to be the loudest in the puppy training classes. Good to know she hasn't let the side down :) She looks lovely in the pics and has grown considerably since we first saw her. How are things going at night with her?

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie

Sometimes after a bit of play, it's lovely when the dogs wil calm down for just long enough to let you get a snap of them without pulling each others beards.

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie

A nice gap in the middle :) or is that supposed to be your seat :D Edie's on my seat and Rosie's on my wife's seat - I don't like to sit on the gap in the cushions :) When my wife seats on the settee, Rosie will lie across her cushion and the arm of the sofa. https://s8.postimg.cc/4npreg7jl/3674156...

Great news Lisa. He's looking fantastic and his beard is positively aristocratic.

Re: Edie's grooming journey begins

Hi Jo,

We don't have enough room for me to have a dedicated room to groom in (not until the stepchildren leave home) :) so it'll be on the tiled floor of the kitchen diner until then.

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie

Mike,

Please just keep posting and have no concerns about "being all about you". It's lovely to know that someone else has gone through a similar experience and made it out, relatively unscathed, to the other side. I love to see photo's and read stories about these special dogs.

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie

Both girls are getting on well with each other but Edie is teaching Rosie bad habits. Rosie has always been a gentle, well behaved girl who was keen to please but now she digs up the flowerbed, being influenced by Edie!! It's actually quite funny to watch. Edie takes herself off and you can see Rosi...

Re: Hello from the Isle Of Wight

Welcome Vasil, There are not many breeders for the standard schnauzer compared to the mini but a good starting point would be those on the KC assured breeders list. The schnauzer list is here https://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/services/public/acbr/Default.aspx?breed=Schnauzer You'll need to contact th...

Re: Edie's grooming journey begins

I arrived home yesterday to discover that a grooming table had been delivered for me. It had been ordered for me by my wife as a surprise. :) I've already had Edie (and Rosie) on it just to card them. Edie is much more comfortable about being carded and I've had a few pulls of the puppy coat with a ...

Re: Puppy is aggressive biting

Edie was much better today with my wife and stepchildren which is great. They were more vigilant round the play between Edie and Rosie and ensured that they each took time to allow the other to play alone too. I got a playpen sorted out for her and with a soft cushion and a few toys in it she's happ...

Re: Puppy is aggressive biting

Thanks for the helpful advice and the link - it's really appreciated. I took a full week off work and spent ten days at home with Edie. Taking her out with me when I was walking Rosie and doing some basic obedience training and all has been going well but I think the problem has stemmed from concent...

Re: Puppy first nights

Also, those 5am or 5.30am times when Oscar woke and I used to sit with him and have cuddles were a really special time, he was still a little sleepy and wanting company....if you get the opportunity to do that yourself and you have the time, it's so worth it. I agree Mike. I always got up with Rosi...

Re: Puppy first nights

Hi Steven, Welcome to the forum. Both my girls have been crated in my bedroom at nights. The reason behind the recommendation is that it is easier to be wakened should the pup need to go to the loo during the night and you can take them outside. The first girl only ever got me up on 3 occasions befo...

Re: Undigested lentils

I have very recently changed Otto's food. This one has lentils in it as part of the veggie content. In most of his poops the lentils come out as they went in which means he is not digesting them at all. It is early days with this new food but should I be concerned? No experience of lentils Julie. R...
