Re: A Tale of Two Breeders

Very interesting thread. Why would a rescue want puppies to be commercially bred in a 'clean' puppy farm?! ! No-one Im in touch with - which is a lot of people with varying backgrounds, experiences and understanding thinks this. But it does suit some in all corners of the puppy breeding world to su...

Re: Traveling advice

We've always done a lot of long drives with the dogs and all have travelled fine thankfully. We tend not to feed beforehand in case of any sickness, but as journeys are usually 12hours in the car, we feed en route at usual feed time and all's been ok. We do wee stops & leg stretches sniffing ops abo...

Re: A Tale of Two Breeders

I look forward to the day that every one who breeds and sells puppies is required to be licensed under a robust and enforced licensing regime. Everyone. That way no-one will be able to denigrate licensed or unlicensed breeders merely on the basis of whether they're licensed. It'll be a level playing...

Schnauzerfest 2016

The last of the almost 40 Schnauzerfest Walks for 2016 were held yesterday and I wanted to thank people here who have taken part. Now in its 3rd year, its been another totally incredible show of generosity and willingness to help rescue dogs from a huge number of people across the country. Money is ...

Our summer

We've had a funny year, lots of nice things happening and sad, difficult and upheaval type things too. But, we seem to have turned a positive corner now (I hope) and I'll keep focussed on the good. We came out to France back in April and Cerise is loving her first French summer. She's settled in wit...

Re: Hello from France

He may even enjoy a frogs leg or two! Ours have had them in the past and enjoyed them :D We spend a lot of time in SW France each year, the heat right now is pretty high but the dogs cope if we go out super early for our walks then head indoors for the hottest hours...or under the trees in the gard...

Re: Should I or shouldn't I, that is the question?

Sorry Sue to hear about your husband :( it's been a tough old year for a lot of people I know with bereavements (me included). I think you'll make the right decision, and make it work for all of you, Im sure you will whatever that is. I agree with Lisa that sometimes dogs do come along for us for ve...

Re: Help! Ollie attacked!

Haven't been on for a while, sorry to read that Ollie had an incident like this, but glad he's recovered. Dogs are amazing creatures and do bounce back from all kinds of adversity don't they.
