Re: Bringing my Miniature Schnauzer home at 11 weeks

Creggan stayed with his amazing breeders until 11 weeks and I think he really benefitted from it :) He was a much easier puppy than Rodders.

I, however, do feel I missed out a bit ;)

Re: Charities U turn on Puppy Trade

The debate may be between two members of the forum but it is making interesting reading for those of us that follow it. I really don't understand why government won't ban the sale of puppies and kittens in pet shops* as it would go a long way to stopping the battery farming of them. Once they have c...

Re: Senior dogs, arthritis, and tramadol

Do look for hydrotherapy pools locally, I found one completely by accident. It has been there for years apparently but it is tucked away. I have been told that chicken feet, fed raw, contain glucosamine and mine love them as a treat. I hope you find something natural that works, but I would be happy...

Sounds like you have the measure of her :)

I know mini's are the right dog for me but I absolutely love it when a giant joins our schnauzer walks, they are just gorgeous!

Re: French groomers

If you spot any schnauzer owners when you are out and about, and like the cut they have, you could ask where they get groomed ;)

Re: Fearless miniature schnauzer!

Neutering didn't stop this behaviour with Creggan! Do you find he is better off lead? Creggan has been very well socialised but can still be a monkey with dogs he doesn't know. On lead I need to make sure that I look out for any approaching dogs and get him to sit and wait for yummy fishy treats, th...

Re: Red Bearded light chocolate front legs and yellow back l

Great advice already :)

Rather than use hand wash, however mild, could you make up a dilution of doggy shampoo in a bottle to use for Bracken?

Re: #Supervet Comes to Hay!

Oh wow, I saw him on telly, he's amazing. Have to wonder though if they cut out the bad cases where things don't go so well, I've never seen a bad outcome. Even the greatest surgeons in the world don't get it right every time, but he obviously is absolutely amazing, a miracle worker. There are defi...

Re: Best puppy book for new Schnauzer owner?

When looking for a vet do try to find one with 24/7 cover.

A friend's dog had a severe illness and needed hydration, their vet only provided it between the hours of 9am to 6pm and they had to take the dig home every night, very scary with a poorly pooch :(

Re: #Supervet Comes to Hay!

I have heard him talk about this before and it makes so much sense I don't understand the resistance. After all, the drug companies have experimented on animals for years before giving their drug to humans. Isn't what Noel does in a similar vein?

Re: Best puppy book for new Schnauzer owner?

Gwen Bailey's The Perfect Puppy was my bible. I read it from cover to cover before Rodders came home and referred to it often. When looking for training classes go for an APDT trainer who uses only kind methods. I learnt far more at puppy training than Rodders did! Can't wait to meet Percy :) Sent f...
