Re: Oscar's gone

Dylan is growing rapidly, both in size and confidence. We went to a puppy class’s on Monday to observe with a view to signing up. He was as good as gold so hoping it continues. Still going for a poo in the middle of the night and were taking it in turns to sleep downstairs with him. But have got a p...

Re: Stan The Man

We’ve been through a similar experience. From being a healthy dog to having to make a heartbreaking decision 4 days later is a crushing blow. Miss him so much but it was the best decision we could make for his sake. In floods of tears even now. We decided that the house was empty without a fur baby ...

Hi no, it's a breeder in Wales. Because of that we've decided to call him Dylan. Collect him on Thursday. Can't wait

Re: Oscar's gone

Ok an update, we have decided to have another dog. In about a weeks time we will be collecting a black and silver puppy. I'll post some photos when we do. Re: Oscar's gone

Thank you for all your kind words, still trying to come to terms with it. We thought we had turned a corner when he was signed off on wed from one condition only for it all to come crashing down. Every where I turn I see things to remind me what has gone. You never really think about it till it’s go...

Oscar's gone

I haven't been on here for a while, reading the stories in Rainbow Bridge always made me cry. I knew this day would come but we had to have Oscar put to sleep this afternoon. We're both devastated. B 28/12/08 d 27/8/19 run free little man you certainly were huge in our lives. We are still in shock f...

Re: Pancreatitis

Oscar has pancreatitis, we feed him royal canin kibbles and supplement with chap pie in the evening.

The biggest difference is sprinkling a lypex capsule on his meals, since we started regular dosing he seemed to have settled down

Re: Hello, new rescues

Hello Sarah

They can be annoying, playful , stubborn, loving but for all the pluses and minuses we wouldn't be without ours.

I wish when we bought ours we had got 2 but 20/20 hindsight. Oscar has some issues but it makes him all the more precious.

Re: Ongoing pancreatitis

Oscar has had this for about 4 years, we're very careful with his diet.

Royal Canin Kibbles and either Butchers lean and tasty or Chappie tinned food.

If he has an attack of the runs we sprinkle a Lypex capsule on his food which seems to help.

Re: Severe pancreatitis

P,S. Our vet recommended Lypex tablets to help which do seem to work.

He hasn't had an bout for about a year, i.e. no vomiting except for when he bolts his food. But still has the runs which we use the lypex for,

Re: Severe pancreatitis

Oscar has had Pancreatitis for about 3 years now. He seems to be allergic to chicken we discovered as well. So now he has Butchers lean and tasty or Chappie with his Royal Canin kibbles. It's been a learning experience especially as he is a gannet and will eat anything he can get his hands on. He ha...

Re: Lying with back legs fully stretched out

Oscar still does it at the age of 7.

He also loves to lie on the back seat of the car with his head in the door pocket.

Re: Fowey Schnauzers

we're currently in Porthleven, went for a walk at Trellisick today, excellent for dogs walking down to the river and coming back round the headland. The car park is free if you're a NT member but you can't take dogs in the formal gardens. Charlestown was good, just been used for filming Poldark so l...
