What predicaments has your schnauzer got into ?

Barney does get himself into a pickle every so often and needs help. This morning was no exception. We were having a walk on the cliff paths and he stopped to do a poo as high up as possible in the earth bank by doing his handstand poo. I stopped and was sorting poo bag out and when I looked down he...

Re: Raw marrow bones

Waitrose are also doing lamb ribs (in cold meat section)at the moment that work out cheaper than natures menu at the pet shop. Waitrose frozen lamb hearts are also cheaper than Natures menu for 2.
Waitrose also got Forthglade cold pressed 2 bags for £11. Who says waitrose is expensive =))

Re: Taking in new buddy after his owner died

Hi and Welcome So pleased you could give Chase a home. Have you tried getting in contact with the vet that prescribed the medications. They may have more background history on file about him. Once he's settled in it would be worth looking at his diet as the wrong food can cause skin issues and can i...

How lovely, your breeder is very considerate. So exciting.
A few years ago Leigh (zeta1454) set up a puppy cam for one of their schnauzer litters. Everybody got daily puppy fixes :D

Re: Grass seed

I don't use any type of brush on Barney except when blow drying. I always use stainless steel comb. I find it gets right down to the skin and if there are matts or persistent seeds theres enough space to hold the hair to comb out without pulling the skin. If hes really bad I start with the wide toot...

Re: Fencing - how high

I'm convinced Barney is part springbok. He can jump vertical into OH arms from standing start and he's over 6ft. He can jump straight onto grooming table landing on all four paws no problem. When we're out he regularly has to jump up on top of 4ft high earth banks to be safe from passing cars.Yet we...

Re: New puppy And ears

Hi Paula I split your post from the other thread. Hope that's ok. I think youre the first I've come across with a pup with natural ears wanting them to stand up, its normally the other way around :)) You can normally get an indication around teething time whether they are going to fly away or not. T...

My cool gel pad has just arrived, very clever technology. Otto has been standing on it and sitting on it already (as have I). If he doesn't use it I will. :D
I got a surprise how cold it was when I stood on it in bare feet for the first time. You can get them as pillow inserts.

I've not used the cool jackets but Barney likes his cool gel mat to lay on.

Love it. Shame we don't do the schnauzer calendar anymore.

Think I might have to pop down with Barney and do a white version

Re: Who is this cocky fella and what have you done with Otto?

I've come across a few owners of smaller dogs that have had problems with black labs. Barney holds back from them now, views them all with suspicion. Its strange because its only this past year that Barney loses his head when he gets the scent. Not long ago he was in super hyper mode in the same are...

Re: Who is this cocky fella and what have you done with Otto?

He sounds just like Barney used to be, and it was always black Labradors that would be a problem. They do settle down and they do learn not all dogs wants to be sniffed. Barney got a taste of his own medicine the other day when we met 2 St Bernards. One just would not leave him alone with his nose u...
