Re: Deworming

Have you considered a natural approach rather than chemical? I use diatomaceous earth with my two, mixed into their food causes any parasite to slowly die and be passed naturally.

Re: Back Leg Weakness

Totally understand this as this is where we are with our 13 year old rescue. I need to investigate options also.

;) It applies to any entity that holds (controls or processes) personal data, so even this forum would technically fall under it as its an online platform where personal details are held, the owners and users of the site are equally liable for the protection of that data. Names, email addresses, pho...

Re: Daisy is declining

Thanks for all the kind notes. During her short walk around the streets today her back legs went entirely, it was awful, she just fell from side to side, dragging her legs out behind her. I quickly whipped her into my arms and walked home, with Penny going mental at a cat under a car, just to top it...

Daisy is declining

So poor Daisy’s health is starting to decline. She struggles to walk as her back legs are so weak, she’s also routinely defacating in the house first thing which may be related to the weakness in her back end. Walks around the streets or parks are now very slow and she sleeps large parts of the day....

Re: Sleep disturbance.

Thanks. Daisy snores loudly so in the bedroom is a no.

I suspect restricting her should be tried but I expect her to try and break out!

Sleep disturbance.

Since bonfire night last year, Daisy has rarely slept fully through the night and it’s now become a nightly experience for her to be tapping on the bedroom door or barking continuously until we put her back in her bed when she’ll then settle. For a few hours. Then it starts again. We are both utterl...

Penny in the wars again

So last weekend while Penny was laid in my arms snoozing upside down I noted what looked like a hernia about the size of a 50p rising and falling. Never seen it before so took her to the vets yesterday to be told she needed surgery. Sigh. No idea how that's happened. Back into a baby grow for her to...

Re: Strange limping / hopping

Penny now hops like this every other step and my concern is the stress on the rest of her body especially spine. While TPLO has been suggested I'm just not convinced as my observation and research would suggest something more akin to the patella issue. She only hops at full walking speed, if I slow ...

Sadly I don't. The dog walker I use saw the post on Facebook and forwarded it to me so if you're on Facebook and find the rescue page for them it may have more.

Re: My beautiful boy gone suddenly.

I'm so incredibly sorry to hear of your loss and pain. It's something many of us have experienced and know we will again. Don't blame yourself, no one lives for ever. The important part is that you had so many incredibly fantastic and long years together, remember that, Oscar will. He knows you love...
