Re: Time to start the search.....

After Crufts and Discover Dogs yesterday, I think we are open to suggestions for standard size breeders as well! Anyone who has a recommendation please do get in touch! :)

Time to start the search.....

Evening all. Phill & I have finally resolved that we (Branock included) need another canine in the house. We have put ourselves out there in terms of adopting but have been shot down, due to Branock not being neutered and that I would take any new addition to work with me, along with Branock (prefer...

raw calculator

Good news for Android users: we finally have a raw app! It's not totally free, but no ads, for £1.58 I think this will be invaluable for anyone just starting out or if, like me, your maths is shocking ;) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.justitan.rawfeddog&hl=en" onclick="window.open...

Re: What does this mean?

If the poops were ok & no gassiness then I wouldn't jump to the offal being the problem. And definitely don't give up on it - you need offal for a balanced raw diet. You could start with a smaller quantity of offal, if she hasn't had much of it before, too much of it one go is very likely to result ...

Re: Those pesky fleas....

We 're a Billy No Mates household too, Branock has had the odd bite (not necessarily fleas though) but we've never found a live flea on him, or flea dirt. Our vet has commented that they have seen more creepy crawly problems and tummy bugs, most likely due to the mild winter so far not killing off t...

Re: Self conscious of dog noise

When we knew Branock was coming home we made a little note with the cutest picture we'd taken on our first visit and gave one to each of our neighbours (semi-detached house, split into 4 flats + next house over = 5 neighbours) explaining that this was Branock, when he was coming home, and to please ...

Re: Bad skin problem

Have a read of this article about this new wonder drug.. http://www.2ndchance.info/Apoquel.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It certainly is effective in many cases to instantly relieve the itch, but the adverse side effects and links to cancers would not make me want to use this. T...

Re: Bad skin problem

Oh bless him. I imagine feeling so rotten must be exhausting in itself. I don't know if it would help but there's a new-ish allergy drug called apoquel, which does wonders to relieve itching, with none of the nasty side effects of steroids etc. I'm not sure it would work for Bertie as the cause isn'...

Re: Bad skin problem

Absolutely do not give paracetamol or any other human pain relief.
If he is really stressed I personally would be at the emergency vets, as none of you will be getting any rest if he can't settle.

Re: Home prepared low phosphorus diet

I don't know much about the intricacies of the different diets you need for Flynn, but I'd certainly take the view with mine that once I'd researched it (as you have done) and knew what to avoid (as you do), I'd be able to freestyle feed as healthily as a manufacturer. Good luck, I reckon you proba...

Re: Bad skin problem

In the meantime our vet says nothing wrong with aloe gel or light coating of e45 type cream to help soothe, might be something you have in the cupboard to just help take the edge off so he can get some rest?
