Welcome to Schnauzer-Forum.co.uk.

This forum is a community of people interested in and owned by Schnauzers of all sizes and colours. We especially welcome new members who are interested in these fascinating and charming dogs whether already owned by a Schnauzer or not. Feel free to join our community at any time but remember; sooner is always better. Our forum is full of members whose background varies greatly from their age and job to their location and experience of dogs. This can include children. We wish this forum to remain friendly, welcoming and full of advice and Schnauzer based chat. Our rules reflect this greatly. Please follow these rules so that everyone's experience is enjoyable.

Discrimination. We do not accept discrimination. At all. This can include, but is not limited to, posts that are abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, or contain any other material that may violate any applicable laws. This also applies to any link or similar to websites containing such material

Profanity. Please remember that this is an open forum that wishes to stay friendly. Don’t post in a manner that others would find rude or offensive or include language others could find profane. This forum uses a censor to remove unintended profanity. Do not attempt to fool the censor as this could result in your post being edited or deleted. Repeated use of profanity could result in a warning.

Flaming/Harassment. Co-exists with rule one. We advise all members to speak as they would wish to be spoken to and in addition to the above show consideration to people’s feelings, especially regarding sensitive subjects. Insulting member(s) with abrasive or abusive language is not tolerated. Depending on how severe the harassment; a warning or a ban may be issued at the discretion of the Admin. Team.

Spam. Our definition of spam is the following; pornographic images/links, hacking attempts, advertising and anything deemed not appropriate. Spam is not allowed. Failure to follow this rule will result in a warning or an immediate ban.

Advertising. No retailers may sell items here. You may not advertise your business or products on this forum. This also applies to adverts for puppies or dogs. Threads about a dog requiring rehoming are allowed in the Rescue and Rehome section. Decisions about whether a post is a rehome or a for sale advert are at the discretion of the Admin Team. If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the team for clarification.

Your Account is yours and yours alone. You are responsible for all activity created with your account. You may not use your account to post on behalf of banned members.

Breeders / Kennels. Members may not discuss breeders in open forum in a way that directly identifies the breeder, this includes their name, precise location (general area such as county or North West is fine), or affix (also known as kennel name). Should moderators find a breeder identified in a discussion those identifying points will be removed. We will make every attempt to allow the thread to continue but if that cannot happen without the breeder being identified again the thread will be locked. If a member would like opinions on a breeder they are considering they may make a new thread asking for opinions on that breeder. The post will remain but the thread will be locked to prevent inflammatory or nasty comments about that breeder being shared in open forum. If further posts have been made on the thread they will be removed. If members do have a view we ask that they PM those views directly to the original poster. Members may include a breeders affix when referring to their dogs by their Kennel Club Registered name. Please remember we do not like to encourage discussions about breeders so we would appreciate the help of all members in preventing threads progressing in such manner. We are more than happy for dogs to be listed by Kennel Club Registered name, including any affixes and owners name(s), when posting show results. This can be a delicate subject as many breeders are not members of this site and so cannot defend their breeding practices or provide counter-arguments to any claims made. In many cases the handling of such a thread will be discretionary on a case by case basis and will be decided by the Moderators.

Grammar/Spelling. Not a rule as such but please try and help other members understand your point by making your post as easy to read as possible, this includes reasonable use of good spelling and punctuation and refraining from ‘text’ or ‘internet’ speak.

Personal Information. Do not post email addresses, telephone numbers or postal addresses in your posts. This is an open forum and these details can be used by spammers and internet criminals. People can contact you via Private Message by using the link at the bottom of your posts or through your profile page. The forum will automatically notify you of a new PM via your registered email address.

Off Topic. Please try and keep threads on the original topic. When threads have changed topic the Admin Team can split the thread out to keep the original thread on topic. The split posts will be made into a new thread.

Warning System. The Admin Team may issue a warning for behaviour that contravenes these rules or is deemed to be unacceptable. The Admin Team may also withdraw use of the Private Message system, withdraw posting rights, or issue an immediate ban if it is felt by the Admin Team that the user’s behaviour warrants such action. Any action taken will be done so entirely at the discretion of the Admin Team. Warnings will be recorded on a members profile and three warnings will result in the member being banned.

Please remember that the Admin Team is not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author, not the views of this forum or its Admin Team (unless a post is made by a member of the team). The Admin Team will try to remove any objectionable material as soon as possible, but please remember this is our hobby too and we are not logged on 24 hours a day, nor can we review every post the minute it is made. If you feel that a posted message is questionable, please contact us immediately by Private Message or use the ‘Report’ facility. Abuse of the ‘Report’ facility to bully another member or as ‘tit-for-tat’ may result in a warning for the member abusing this facility, we are busy people, please don’t waste our time with such petty, childish behaviour.

You agree that the Admin Team have the right to delete, edit, move or close any topic or post at any time should they see fit without notice, although we will always try to explain why.
