First cut for Hugo

Our Schnauzers do need to be groomed regularly and they truly are transformed after a visit to the groomer. Share your before & after Schnauzer grooming photos here.

Hugo had his first groom the other day. Completely transformed. Think the groomer did a good job...

Hugo looks great. He seems really proud of his new appearance.

I made a first attempt at Milla's ears, head/face and chest to-day and wow what a struggle. I felt I also needed to be left handed. Her hair is black and SO soft it's really hard to get a feeling for how it is going even in front of the window.

Of course it didn't go that well in the end but in a strange way I am proud that I have had a go and I'll continue to keep at it because I'm sure it will get easier and I will get better. At least her head is more Schnauzer shaped now.

Also Milla seems to think she is there to eat all the hair that drops onto the table so I find I am clipping/cutting and racing her to where the hair has fallen in order to knock it onto the floor before she gets it.

I have a new-found respect for groomers.
PS she is coming up for 6 months and her coat is still not pulling out easily so I am just continuing with the carding knife. I would post a photo but the light has gone now - especially for photographing a black dog.
