Hi
I took my mini schnauzer to emergency vets he had a burst anal abscess. The vet mentioned to vary his food. I feed him royal canin with some carrot, sometimes he has chicken. What do you feed yours and any suggestions on feeding and anal glands he is groomed regularly and she checks his glands.
Many thanks

Re: Miniature schnauzer
Hi Emma,
I don't have any 'anal gland' experience but in terms of feeding, my two have McAdams Small dry food mixed in with some Natures:Menu wet food, morning (8am) and evenings (6pm). We seem to think that they must get bored eating the same thing, day in and day out, hence mixing in a little wet food (different flavours). They also get cooked chicken as a treat (although I think Turkey is supposed to be leaner but unfortunately more expensive) and the odd dog treat

Re: Miniature schnauzer
Mine are fed Honeys real food or Poppy's Picnic I had a few gland issues with Hamish and he gets a bit of oat bran in his breakfast recommended by the vet.
They love it and are healthy no bad breath or sloppy poo.
