I know exactly how you feel, we lost a Boxer at 3, and although we knew it was imminent, it certainly doesn't prepare you for it, but to lose one with no warning at all must be doubly hard to grasp. There is nothing anyone can say to ease the pain, but like someone else has said, we are all here for you and will help in any way we can. Maybe Poppy will allow herself to be cuddled etc as she is feeling just as lonely and upset as you. Cannot say anymore, sorry.

We lost Bobbie at 8 and I still miss her dreadfully, there's something worse about losing a dog 'before time' and I know how you feel. XXX

How awful, my heart goes out to you and there's not going to be anything anyone can say to make this easier. Does the vet have any idea what caused poor Dexter to become so I'll so suddenly? What a complete shock it must have been. The loss of any beloved pet is heart breaking, but when you lose them so suddenly and before you should, it seems even worse. So sorry

Have just read this, have been away for a break.........So so sorry to read about Dexter and so young, a huge shock for you, sending you hugs.

Thank you all so much for your support. It really means a lot to have people who understand how I'm feeling. Dexter was a fantastic little dog who was always happy and bouncy. He leaves a massive hole in my heart. Love you lots little man.
