Thanks Julie, had a read and found it it interesting and informative. I’ve decided to go back to daily training sessions as he absolutely loves it (especially the treats) - hopefully cheer us both up

I am so sorry for your loss and it is so much worse when they are so young. Many of us have been where you are now and it is just the worst place. Time helps but you never forget.

Thank you for your kind words Graham, everything’s so raw at the moment - happened across some photos today, and blubbed for what seems forever but Pippin put his paw 🐾 on my knee - cheered me up no end

Picked up Holly's ashes today. I was very impressed with Kings hill Cremations - the room is lovely, table set beautifully with candles and posy of flowers, and of course Holly in her wooden casket.

She's on the mantelpiece at the moment but plan to put her in the garden, where she loved to be. I've bought lots of lavender plugs to grow on, and eventually put her amongst them when it's ready.

I swear Pippin knew Holly was in the box - he just wouldn't leave it alone :o3

Awww Brandie, sorry to hear of your loss too - it is heartbreaking but I’m lucky to have my gorgeous boy Pippin, who makes me laugh and has been helping me to stay cheery. I hope you’re ok x

Julie, I don’t know about ME talking to Holly, I think Pippin has been - I had to laugh at him yesterday trying to speak, I just wish I knew what he was saying! :o3

So sorry to hear about Holly. I know of quite a few people who have had loved ones cremated but didn't want to have their ashes in the house but yet have had their dogs cremated and still have them in the house because they can bear to bury them. Guess that says a lot about paw prints on your heart.

I get that completely. Oscar is in a little box and when we moved house I was so glad that he could come with us. Had to draw the line when husband suggested we take Oscar (and box) with us on our first holiday without him. Can't imagine wanting to take the Mother-in-Law's ashes with us on holiday. Can't imagine them being in the house either......

Thank you Alison, my intention was to bury Holly’s ashes in the garden, but we’re going to keep her in the house for a while - I guess until I’m ready, like you said, can’t bear to bury her just yet.

Julie, You made me laugh - taking ashes on holiday . . . and mother-in-law hahaha

I just want to let you all know that our pet insurance company have been really great, they even sent a hand-written card of condolence - after such a bad start with them, I am so glad I stuck with them for the last couple of years. Two days after informing them about Holly they had reduced the monthly payments to under £20 - couldn’t believe it, considering what they’ve paid out for Holly.
