Welcome to the Forum :-)

Do have a browse of the Puppy and Breeding sections of the Forum for plenty of help and advice regarding getting a new puppy. Recommendations will have to be by private message only.

I would mention that it is highly unlikely that any reputable breeder would allow two pups to go to the same family at the same time as, even for a family with lots of experience of dogs, the demands of raising two together are huge and the potential for problems much greater than with one.

Recommendations are always helpful but do make sure that you have your own high standards in mind when checking out any breeder who is recommended to you. Different people have different interpretations of a good breeder and, if you want to be sure of the ethics and good practice of the breeder you go to, you need to be sure not to rely on just a recommendation.

Have a list of the things that are important to you, expect the breeder to question you fully, visit at least once and try to arrange to speak to and possibly meet the breeder at their home even before they have any puppies available.

The Kennel Club Assured Breeder scheme does carry out inspections of breeders on their list, requires that parent dogs of miniature schnauzers are eye screened for hereditary eye conditions in the previous 12 months and generally demands high welfare considerations. Further from this you would need to make your own assessment of the breeders as regards their care of their dogs and whether you feel they offer the best possible care of their dogs but the ABS can be a starting point for anyone looking for a well reared puppy.

Good luck in your search and do be prepared to wait and to travel for the right puppy from the best breeder :-)
