Lovely videos. To all that were there, was that Jackie Hoods new boy in the Grooming Mayhem video, very very nice ;)
It's all about our lovely, bearded Schnauzers and their carers.
Actually it is not all breeds that are affected by the vet checks at shows although any dog could I believe be referred to a vet if there was thought to be a serious problem on the day. The vet checks have been introduced primarily for 14 'high profile' breeds which were considered by the Kennel Club to be the ones about which the greatest health concerns had been raised. These are the following: Basset Hound, Bloodhound, Bulldog, Clumber Spaniel, Chow Chow, Dogue De Bordeaux, French Bulldog, German Shepherd Dog, Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pekingese, Pug, Shar-Pei, St. Bernard.Dawnspell wrote:I am right in thinking that even if they win a class they then still have to be examined by a vet who has an expertise in the breed. If in the case of say a bulldog the vet thinks there are problems with the breathing they can take away the win as this would be against improving the breed standard ?
Oh these are great to see and to get a flavour of what the show was like, thanks Judi, so much better than just a list of namesJudi Ibbotson wrote:4 short videos from Driffield show
If all you needed to do was turn up on the day I think many more of us may choose to showBeeBee wrote:I dont follow the show world, so forgive my ignorance and am only following this as it involves the very lovely Creggan's brother but, am I right in thinking that as only 2 are in the results in Maverick's group, all he had to do was turn up and he'd have got a prize? Or, the two that are there, could have both not been awarded a prize and therefore that group would not have had any winners? same for all the groups where the entries are low? And please don't take my question as questioning Maverick's a worthy winner
Hi Julie and welcome to the forumJULIE_4Ms wrote:Hi Bee Bee
If Maverick (or any of the other entrants for that matter) weren't worthy of a place, the Judge would not 'place them'
I knew that Louis got a life time Crufts qualification yesterday but didn't realise he now has a stud book numberBBG wrote:Way to go Louis and Tom. Congratulations on gaining Louis stud book number and life time qualification for Crufts. He such a lovely boy and so deserves it
The babies did well didn't theyBBG wrote: Well done too to Robert and Lauren with your babies. All the hard work has paid off. And if they weren't worthy of their places, the judge would have with held them ;)
I think Judi should go to ALL shows, she has done a brilliant set of video'sBeeBee wrote:Oh these are great to see and to get a flavour of what the show was like, thanks Judi, so much better than just a list of namesJudi Ibbotson wrote:4 short videos from Driffield show
