Re: Introducing Rosie
Lovely photo Sam. Rosie seems in her element, does she chase the seagulls. My Max loved to chase them. Milla hasn't been to the beach yet.
By the way I thought her coat was looking good in the photos further up.

Re: Introducing Rosie
Boyd, she loves the beach and seems to grow in confidence on the sand as she'll stray more than her usual 5 yards from me. She plays indifferent to the gulls until we get close then she really goes for them. I don't mind as they're far too wily for her!
We do have a beach where we have nesting sea birds but we don't walk her there as we wouldn't want to disturb any nesting birds. In addition, there are dog bans on the main beaches in Guernsey from 1 May to 30 Sept every year but we're still spoilt for choice

Re: Introducing Rosie
Hi Alison,
We're on Ladies Bay but yes, it's Chouet behind her. Not our first choice of beach to walk but one of the better ones during the summer ban.

Re: Introducing Rosie
I try to keep Sunday mornings free to take Rosie out for a longer walk and, if possible, to somewhere on the island new to me too.
Today we parked at Jerbourg and went along the cliff paths to Marble Bay, Divette and back to Jerbourg by climbing over 120 steps. Rosie coped much better than me though, as you can see from the photo, she did give me a "Seriously" look

Looks a fantastic place to walk her Sam. I'm jealous - so is Milla, I just showed her the pictures.Schnauzer Sam wrote:I try to keep Sunday mornings free to take Rosie out for a longer walk and, if possible, to somewhere on the island new to me too.

Re: Introducing Rosie
I met up with three other mini schnauzer owners this morning to walk Rosie. She's very anxious of other dogs but recently has been more accepting of people calling to our house so I thought I'd see what her reaction to other schnauzers would be.
She is comfortable with staying on the fringes of the group and will tolerate being around the other dogs provided that they leave her alone. One of the boys just wanted to play and was persistent in his attempts to get Rosie to play but after a bit of growling and baring of teeth he decided to let her be.
This is a photo someone took about halfway round. She prefers to remain behind my legs and watch what's going on.

Re: Introducing Rosie
Awe I wish you lived closer and she could go out with Milla. I'm sure Milla would be best buds and make her less shy. She has such a lovely face I'm not surprised the wee boy dog wanted to play.Schnauzer Sam wrote: ↑20 May 2018, 15:12 I met up with three other mini schnauzer owners this morning to walk Rosie.
