Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie
Maybe one day Alison, but a pup Sam, not so sure about that, they are a bit like rocking horse poo, I think my girls are the only ones in my area, there are a few minis about and I am far too old to have another pup. At the daycare my girlies go to he has to giant pups in to bring on for protection dogs, they are stunning and in the village where I work there is a Salt and Pepper giant, also quite rare. I know this is very out of line saying this, but my favourite dog of all is a Boxer, but, having said that we as a family would never have another because of all the medical issues they have, very sad, but very true.

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie
We'd a lovely walk on the east coast of Guernsey yesterday afternoon, through the lanes, ending up on a beach that only exists at low tide. The dogs had a great time sniffing and splashing in the shallows before we headed home.

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie
Beautiful pictures Sam - I know it was hot last week in the UK (we were away), so being able to pop down to the beach for Rosie and Edie to cool off must be great.
Assuming they actually go in the water, unlike my two when we take a trip to the seaside
Even if they don't, I assume it's cooler at the beach by the water?

They don't deliberatley go in for a swim, Mike, but they're happy to run through the breaking waves and rockpools.mikegoodson1 wrote: ↑01 Aug 2019, 17:39 Beautiful pictures Sam - I know it was hot last week in the UK (we were away), so being able to pop down to the beach for Rosie and Edie to cool off must be great.

Great pictures
The colour one is a lovely portrait of the girls with a scenic background but the B&W has a "story" to it somehow - I love that one best too.

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie
Thanks for your thoughts, Leigh.
The castle in the background is called Castle Cornet and on 4 successive Friday evenings in July/August they have a "Castle Night" when there are 3 or 4 music acts playing live in various outside areas of the castle. The whole thing is sponsored by KPMG. It's free to get in (usually an entry fee ) and you can take along a picnic and a glass or two of something
Last night was the final night of the series and the girls were more interested in the sounds coming from behind them so it was a bit of a challenge to get them to face me for a photo. I thought the pic of them looking over their shoulder actually added a bit of interest.

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie
Okay so that answers my question before I even ask it I was going to ask how you managed to get them either both looking away or at you at the same time. I have difficulty with this with my twoSchnauzer Sam wrote: ↑03 Aug 2019, 17:34Thanks for your thoughts, Leigh.

But it looks like with the 'both looking away', it was because of the noise and I'm assuming the 'both looking at you' was because of you calling them or offering a treat?
Both lovely photos by the way, I think I prefer the B&W pic too!

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie
This weekend was our gotcha weekend for Edie. She burst into our lives one year ago and has demanded attention since.
I've not yet had a single regret and I can't imagine being without her.

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie
I've lived in Guernsey for 11 years now and there's a beach called Petit Port that I've always wanted to visit. I've been told there are 220 steps down to it. I was lied to - there are 291 and more importantly, there are 291 to climb back up!!
Rosie and Edie joined me this morning and we had a ball. Rosie really let her hair down and went exploring. I think it's because we had the beach to ourselves and she didn't have anything to be anxious about.
This is Petit Port

And the steps back up !

Great photos
Love the ones of the girls running along the wet sand. The beach looks amazing - perfect for dogs to enjoy. Not so sure about all those steps though!!

Re: A thread for Rosie and Edie
Fab photos of the adventurous pair. We went to Ilfracombe and I thought at last, photos of Otto on the beach. Unfortunately there were signs up warning that the water wasn't of very good quality and the parts of main harbour beach looked like it had oil/diesel on it, so nothing like the beaches in your photos Sam. I would love to have the beach to ourselves like that. You are very lucky.
