Eye question
Hi everyone,
Just a quick question and hopefully nothing to worry about, so I'm just putting it out there. I noticed today that Sasha seems to have a little bald spot underneath her right eye (or left side as you look at her), I only noticed it this morning. The eye itself isn't red, she doesn't seem bothered by it so I'm not worried as such, I just wondered how it could have happened?
Her diet hasn't changed, she went to the groomers just before Xmas but I don't recall seeing this after that visit so I am assuming it's new.
A few pics below that hopefully allow you to see what I mean:
If you click on one of the images then select 'zoom' you can see it better.
Thanks
Mike

Re: Eye question
Mike, could be demodex (eyelash mite). Off to vets for little Sasha I think for a scrape. Take a look at the attached link to see if any similar. I think there could be a number of causes but vet can advise.

Re: Eye question
Whatever it is Mike, it's good that you have picked it up early and I agree with Julie, a visit to the vet is your best course of action. All the best.mikegoodson1 wrote: ↑01 Jan 2019, 17:43 Hi everyone,

Re: Eye question
Thanks Julie and Boyd.
We have booked an appointment this afternoon at 3pm when my wife will take Sasha to our vets. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and it's just caused by Sasha tearing around somewhere. She is like a tracker dog when out on walks, nose to the ground and in and out of woodland chasing squirrels and birds with Oscar trailing along behind her

Re: Eye question
Good news back from the vets, it isn't mites thankfully but apparently a scratch and the eye itself is okay - thanks for your help
Sasha and Oscar do play quite rough sometimes (or it appears so to me) so maybe it happened then or like I said previously, when Sasha was tearing around through the woods.

Re: Eye question
That's great news for Mike. Just another socialisation event at the vets for a "small" fee then..

Re: Eye question
Glad to hear it's nothing to worry about Mike.
Rosie and Edie play very rough too and although Rosie has the weight advantage, Edie has the determination and never backs down! Every now and then she forgets herself and challenges me and I stop what I'm doing and say in a gentle voice - "You don't do that to Dad". She rolls onto her back for a tummy tickle

Great news Mike, it has fair cheered me up. I'm sure you are already counting it as one of your better Christmas presents.mikegoodson1 wrote: ↑02 Jan 2019, 15:43 Good news back from the vets, it isn't mites thankfully but apparently a scratch and the eye itself is okay - thanks for your help

Re: Eye question
Definitely a relief and a great present but like you said Julie, £40 consultation fee later and apparently Sasha was scared stiff in there and shaking, so not even a great afternoon out for her but the main thing is, she is all good
