Jasper's puppy days

The Miniature Schnauzer is a smallest dog in the Schnauzer breed and originated in the mid-to-late 19th Century from Germany. The Miniature Schnauzer is a cross between the Standard Schnauzer and other smaller breeds such as the Poodle. A miniature Schnauzer is a spunky, but aloof dog who does things their own way. They tend to be good guard dogs without the tendency to bite.

His social skills are great Alison. You can forgive him a few high jinks at home if he's such a pleasure when out. We've met Bingo a few times and he's taken a real shine to Edie :)

I went to our local pet-shop yesterday to stock up on food for our pooches and the Manager asked when we would be adding a 3rd - I mentioned Jasper and Monty and said any "3rd" would just have to be a white mini :D
Followed by a 4th Pepper and salt for a full set =))

I first met Jasper on 25 June, today, one month on we met up again with Rosie and Edie. I can't believe how much he's grown in a month and how much more confident he is. He really is a gorgeous little pup. It was nice to meet up with Alison and her husband again too.

All three dogs had good socialisation experience today and Rosie even allowed Alison to feed her some treats - a first. Rosie almost joined in some play but Jasper was definitely up for more play than Edie who was a little subdued today, especially when Jasper's natural urges kicked in =))

Anyway, here's a collection of pics from today's meeting.

Great photos Sam. The one of you with the 3 of them is lovely. We all had a great afternoon, shame we got thrown out at closing time at the café =))

Rosie is a sweet sensitive soul bless her. She made my day coming for treats especially when you told me she'd never taken one from anyone before

It was closing time? There was me thinking it was your dancing on the table that caused the problem =))

Yes, with Rosie, many have tried, but never succeeded in coaxing her to accept a treat. You're the first person outside her immediate family to have been trusted. Just took 2 years to get there :)

My favourite pic is the one of Jasper just about to paw Edie.

I know that's a very common comment about how long his legs are. This photos a bit fuzzy but funny he looks like a head on stilts :))

I think they're supposed to be square when adult at the moment I think his legs are definitely longer than his back

Another socialisation animal encounter. He wouldn't go any closer than this to the hedgehog but came and climbed on my knee to watch it for about 5 mins

He has a lovely wire coat coming through and it lays lovely and flat. He has hardly any undercoat at all I've only carded him once and got a marble size ball of fluff :))

If he was clipped I think hed be one of those that would still have prickly hairs growing through and would be very thin coated. All the pups in the litter looked strippable some definitely had more fluff than Jasper though. The breeder said Jasper and another pup would have best coats out of litter and she knew I would be stripping him.
