Jasper's puppy days

The Miniature Schnauzer is a smallest dog in the Schnauzer breed and originated in the mid-to-late 19th Century from Germany. The Miniature Schnauzer is a cross between the Standard Schnauzer and other smaller breeds such as the Poodle. A miniature Schnauzer is a spunky, but aloof dog who does things their own way. They tend to be good guard dogs without the tendency to bite.

We have a large garden but one spot Jasper keeps gravitating to is where Barney is buried. We've no idea why I think nearly everyday we've had him he's gone and laid on top. He'll take something to chew or he does a bit of maintenance and pulls grass up =))

I think he probably senses "something" is there. When we had to have Caffrey PTS it was done as an emergency, so Worthy didn't know what was happening, he just saw Caff go into the vets but not come out. When I had to go to collect Caffs ashes, Worthy immediately sensed it was Caff I'm sure, he whimpered as I put the casket on the seat of the car and then when I carried it into the house, Worthy was very close to me, I set the casket on a unit and Worthy immediately sat below it for a good hour or so before then going about his usual business. Other than that, he may just be attracted to the memorial stone, either way, he seems very in tune with Barneys presence, bless him.

I have been toying what best to say here because I think it's lovely and also a little sad at the same time. I'm sure Jasper would have loved an older brother to show him the ropes and to look up to; Barney would have loved doing that I bet.

On the lovely side, it's nice to see Jasper sitting there and I'm sure he is telling Barney all the crazy things he has been up to :)

*Alison, if my comment, although well meaning, is upsetting I can remove it - Mike.

10 weeks old today. He's been to the vets for his 2nd vaccination a week to go and he's free to terrorize :D He got weighed and is 3.48 kg so in old speak he's put about a pound on in a week :-o. He's grown in height too. I think teething has started his ears are doing strange things, not going up but sideways =))
Image
The touch command hasn't stopped him biting hands but if he's chasing feet I can ask for touch and he does so we can move along doing touch without getting attacked =)) Which gets him walking along side too.

Barney used to love looking out of the window with his Grandma
Image
We tried Jasper out for size. I love how the end of his tail is a blur

Still a bit of growing to do :))

And one just for Sue

Jasper, you need to learn how to stand on that chair and be on guard duty matey but I'm sure you will get there :)

Lovely pictures - I love that first one where the Jasper isn't that much bigger than the football :)

Thank you Alison, and I love the one especially for me :x He is a gorgeous little pupster, apart from those Walligator teeth - my son Shauns expression, not mine ;)
Please keep those photos coming, they certainly brighten up our day.

Lovely photos, Otto's ears were all over the place when he was teething.

Using a great turn of phrase from my home town, Belfast, "he's a wee dote". :))

I've been pulling out puppy hair. I expected to lose a couple of fingers but he doesn't even notice just lays chewing on something. He was born to be stripped his adult coat is coming in darker down his back. He hasn't really got any undercoat to rake out
Image
He's also.found my new wooden pegs good to chew
