Anyone play hide and seek with their mini?
I just caught wind of this game yesterday (I know, how did I not think of this before) and Ozzy and I just LOVE the game. He is so darn good at it, I'm astonished! I sneak away when he's not looking, when I hear him searching for me, I say "Ozzy find me" in a cute friendly voice. My house is not very big and I guess he uses my voice to find general location, but he goes right to me and finds me EVERY time in no time no matter which room I'm in. The only time I stumped him is when I hid behind the curtain in the shower. He passed the bathroom by a little bit, then came back and straight to the tub where I was hiding.
He is so cute and gets soooooo excited when he finds me (and I guess I do too), it's such a fun game to play! It wasn't hard to teach him the concept, he got it pretty much the 1st time as he still wants to know where I am.
How does he find me so quickly and precisely? I've watched dog hide and seek vids and Ozzy is so good at it I'm flabbergasted. I noticed Ozzy often has his nose to the ground sniffing pawprints and whatever on his walks.......I think he must be using his nose to locate me! Amazing!
Anyone else play hide and seek with their mini? Are they just naturally amazing at it?

Re: Anyone play hide and seek with their mini?
I'd never manage to sneak away anywhere with either Barney or Jasper in the house Mum has good stuff or there might be a chance of going outside so I'm closely observed. Although if Jasper has been out with his Dad and I see them coming back, I do hide before Jasper comes in. He does get super excited when he finds me
I used to play hide and seek with Barney on walks. If he walked ahead I'd hide behind a tree, bush, rock or something. When he realized I wasn't behind him he'd come find me. If I thought he hadn't noticed I'd call "where's mum" and he'd come find me. It got harder as he got older as he kept his beady eyes on me

I'm guilty too.
I can't go anywhere in the house without being followed by four beady eyes and 8 fluffy legs so I can only play when there's someone else to hold them while I go off and hide.

Thanks for your responses!
Is following you around a schnauzer thing? I'll admit, it's not easy to sneak away, but I manage somehow lol. I'm trying to get Ozzy used to being alone more and more independent. I still haven't mastered going out without him and it's really stressing me out, as I'm fearing SA issues. He is jyst passed 6 months, and slowly becoming more independent as he matures, and I feel it's time he starts spending some time alone, but I'm still yoyo-ing out the front door for 20 seconds or so to get him accustomed to seeing me leave so he doesn't freak out and start howling.
I know this is another topic, but has anyone else had trouble with seperation anxiety? What did you do to overcome it?

Hahaha that's Ozzy too!!! Or he lies down on the bath mat as I put my makeup on and do my hair. They are such little love bugs. She is absolutely adorable, thanks for the pic!
Oh I just saw the other one now! Hahaha!!!! Is the darker one Edie?
Btw Sam, we were always planning on getting two minis one day, for now Ozzy is all we need to handle lol, but one day......
I love that you have two. I'd love to talk about it one day. I used to have two, 1.5 years apart, but I don't know how I did it to get them to get along and share ect. Your two are so precious

Yes, Edie's the darker girl she's two and a half. Rosie is the pale girl and she's a year older. They are both P&S.
They are the best of friends now though at first Rosie hid in our bedroom for 3 days before she realised that Edie wasn't going back and better get on with it.

Awww cute! I had a peek at some of your vids, very helpful! They are such good little schnauzers
My Chelsea girl was a dark P&S as well. So cool how their shades vary. My Boy Snoop was lighter like Rosie. Chelsea's dad was B&S, her mom was the same mom as Snoop had, she was very dark like a B&S, but she was actually P&S. I think both Chelsea and her mom had a B&S gene and that's why they were darker. I know her mom had one B&S gene because Chelsea's sisters were all B&S. Snoop looked like his dad, a gunmetal grey.

One of the best games ever. Hiding behind doors and then seeing them creep up on you. Makes me jump sometimes

Re: Anyone play hide and seek with their mini?
I just have him wait somewhere, go hide and call his name in a cute voice, "Ozzy, come find me!". He follows my voice I guess for a direction, but after that he's using his trusty nose haha! At first I'd sneak off on him, but now I just have him wait because he gets the concept of hide and seek.
