This mornings walk, our normal stroll over the west Hill

Post by Mike Jackson »

Just to show it's not all glamorous walks along the beach, through woods or country parks i thought I'd show you some snaps of our normal weekday walk. Most weekdays I head off to the green on the West Hill adjacent to Hastings Castle. We do this walk rain or shine all through the year at 6am. Through the winter months we normally walk in darkness and the guys have their flashing collars on. This morning it was fine and dry so I got some nice pictures.

Not a bad view to start the day.

Bertie was sniffing but looked up when he heard the shutter click.

We have some nice views over the harbour and fishing beach.

We meet quite a few friends, even at this early hour.

This is Gladys, a labradoodle.

And this is Casey a white west highland cross russel.

Bertie is wondering what the delay is, hurry up dad

Bobbie like to get close to the edge. She is as close to the edge as she looks but there is a wide ledge only 4 foot below.

We often walk with Casey and her human, Jean. Casey can just be seen between Bobbie and Bertie.

There's a small woodland adjacent to the green and Bertie likes to explore it. This is him returning from his exploration.

Now for the exciting bit. We leave by the fron door but come home the back way. The passageway is securely fenced and a dead end so we get to the start of the passageway and I let the guys off. They chase off hoping to get sight of a cat. This has the benefit, to me, of deterring cats from using the passageway as a toilet.

It's not all glamour and country walks down here in Hastings.

You do have spectacular views for your "normal" walk, Mike! On our normal walk over the fields, the grass is so high, I can't see over the top!

It does make for a nice start for the day when I know that I'm not off out into the countryside.

Fabulous, you have great views and sense of space down there. I feel tempted to join you!

Even your alleyway photos are evocative. I'm feeling inspired... now where's the camera.

It really is a lovely part of the country to live in and your photo's just seem to make it more stunning - even the back alley!

It looks a fab walk and I love seeing photos of your two on the coast. So different to where I live and you take such good action shots of your two.
