Will do, she's in the middle of her season at the mo so training has had to take a back seat, unfortunately we missed the RallyO but she should be good for the next HTM.

Haven't posted in here for a while, Mia had her first go at a little course at the training centre last week, just jumps, hoop, tunnel and dog walk and boy was she a natural (thanks to her Mum) I'm definitely going to have to up my game and get a bit more serious with it. I was fortunate to watch Susan Garrett's webinar on how she trains her agility puppies at the weekend and have lots of things to be working on, interestingly she doesn't introduce the agility equipment to the pups till after they are 8 months old - lots of food for thought.

Interesting. What does she do for the first 8 months? Play to achieve the right attitude for work, and work on fun and contact? Teaches the basic commands?

Things like crate games, tug/drive games, shaping tricks to teach them how to fail and experience frustration, shadow handling, body awareness, targeting, value for coming in close, and the Susan Sallo (not sure if spelt right) puppy grids. Also the usual socialisation and life skills. She calls them the foundation skills.

Finally I'm getting Mia's agility back on track, we have booked to go on a training day by Toni Dawkins who is one of the countries top agility people, am very excited and also very nervous. We are doing the young dog/beginners class on 2nd Oct, will report back after. Also we have just entered for our first RallyO competition in November!
