How is Mia's agility coming along? or has the bad weather put a stop to practice?

The weather hasn't helped, neither has the fact that my school working hours changed and I had a portfolio to submit, she then came in season and I've been so busy training other peoples dogs (been covering extra classes as my trainer has had a bereavement in the family). Been doing bits and bobs at home, she is well into teenage mode so concentrating on general behaviour. No excuse really lol.

its hard with so much other stuff going on to knuckle down and get the training done!
I am really hoping to start some agility with Kolo and Sapphire and maybe even Freya!

Have been a bit quiet on this thread for a while but last night at training we introduced Mia to the dog walk on the low height, the other dogs in the class had to be coaxed along with a treat on their noses but not Miss know it all, she practically skipped down the length of it and I had to run to catch up with her. On the way out at the end she just had to have another go too. We also worked on the contacts at the bottom of the A frame and the weaves. She really had her brain in gear for a change. On Friday evening we are hoping to join the heelwork to music class!

LOL - oh Mia, you teacher's pet (literally!). Bless her, she must really do you proud. Good luck with the HTM class, let us know how it goes!

Still boggles me when a dog does a weave - we were watching the amature agility at Crufts and the dogs were fantastic but still missed a few poles, poor things didn't get it off though, had to go back and do it!

That's lovely! Glad to hear Mia's so confident, it's nice to see them enjoying the experience isn't it? Luna loves the dog walk and see saw, I think they like to be up high like queens of the castle! lol. (giggle)

I'm hoping it's in the genes, she's a Quickpaw puppy (Heikismum) but we've a lot of catching up to do (dogrun)

Ask if you can borrow Udo for a week so she can see the master at work. ;)

Oh bless her, would love to see a photo of her walking the plank!

Am searching online for some home agility eqpt as we didn't really see any at Crufts, where did you buy your V weaves if you don't mind me asking?

Got mine from Crufts (giggle) a couple of years ago, I can't remember what the company was called.

See, now I have a mental image of Mia on her hindlegs wearing a pretty little girl dress, ribbons in her eyebrows skipping along the cat walk!

Great to hear she's doing well, goodluck at HTM tonight.

Lovely to have an update! maybe you could do a similar thing so people can see how dogs learn HTM?
