Destolit
My B/S Miniature, Freddie, who is 11, has been suffering with liver problems and the vet has suggested trying him on Destolit. He already takes Denamarin which is a supplement to support his liver. There a number of side effects such as nausea and diarrhoea which I am a bit concerned about and wondered if anyone has experience of this drug and whether it has helped. Many thanks

Re: Destolit
Welcome to the Forum, Elizabeth
I am sorry to hear about Freddie’s liver problems. I have no experience with either of these products so hopefully other Forum members may be able to offer some help with these specifically. Have you had the cause of Freddie’s illness diagnosed? Diet is really important in liver problems and the fresher the food offered the better as highly processed food can put a strain on the digestive system as a whole. A really good supplement to support the liver is Milk Thistle and this can be sourced specifically for dogs:

Some more information on diet on this link too:

If you search on the Forum for posts on liver issues you should find some other topics raised by members whose dogs have had problems and there may be some useful information there too.
Do let us know how things progress with Freddie and I do hope things improve for him soon.
