Alfie does the whole 'bat the other dog in the head with a paw' play invite, too!! Not always well-received!!

Re: Standard Story and Questions
Been in the woods.. very sunny but frosty... perfect for dog walking! Lunch and then into town to socialise. Getting good with people now and will happily ignore them. Not quite the same with other dogs yet! Getting very good at recall and he walks off the lead by my side through the woods.

Re: Standard Story and Questions
Anyone got any thoughts on food please? Stanley does seem keen on the Royal Canin so we've moved to Wainwrights. He likes it more and his height / weight seems spot on for an 8 month old. He's 22 inches now and 23kg

Have a look at http://www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have to say Rodders wasn't keen on any kibble Which is what led us on to feeding BARF ;)

Standard Story and Questions
Roxy is doing well on Barking Heads Bad Hair Day. I like the smell.
They have changed the recipe recently to add brown rice. Apart from even dryer poos she still seems fine. Any kibble with chicken or a Turkey gave her yellow yucky poos and she couldn't keep weight on before. Lamb, Fish or Duck were better.
She used to be hyper and ate more than the recommended amounts with JWB and Burns flavours, but on the Barking Heads she has been more settled straight away with the recommend amounts. She has been on it nearly 3 years now.
Recently I tried the Quackers grain free by Barking Heads. All went well when I mixed it half and half but with the smaller portions getting to 100% she started feasting on grass and became obsessed with eating fox poo as she seem to be not full enough. She also kept getting us in the kitchen to ask for food as if we had missed her meal. I just gave up and put her back on Bad Hair Day and she stopped the foraging.
She still likes treats but is not acting like we are starving her any more. I still want to try grain free again as it sounds better for her. Maybe next time I will take much longer to integrate it.
It will be interesting to see what you decide to do and how it all goes.

Standard Story and Questions
We have this range in our local good pet shop and garden centre. Our pet shop do free delivery locally in the evenings and they are walking distance away so it is easy for us to get hold of. For holidays I box it up and take it with us.
I haven't seen it in Pets at Home or any supermarkets so they must restrict their stockists. They have a website who sent me free samples which I gave Roxy as treats. She loved them all but we chose the lamb one.
You can also find it easily for delivery online. It is made in the UK with human grade meat. The 2 standards from our training class were on it. They previously had itchy skin and were thriving on this food with no issues, which is why I switched to it in the first place.

Re: Standard Story and Questions
There's lots in the feeding section about different kibbles and foods in general. Also you may be interested to look at the ratings/reviews on http://www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk/dog-feeding-guide.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
I was quite happy with Barking Heads Puppy but decided to move onto Markus Muhle when Bonnie reached adulthood on recommendation as scored well on above website and reasonably priced. However, we had a setback when Bonnie was approaching a year old resulting in a diagnosis of pancreatitis after which she lost enthusiasm for all foods previously eaten
After a period on a bland chicken/rice pasta diet, I tried various options to encourage her to eat resulting in her current combination diet: raw for breakfast (Nature's Menu nuggets) and kibble (Markhus Muhle mixed with Millie's Wolfheart following successful interest in samples brought back from Crufts). I didn't want to commit fully to BARF due to lack of freezer space and now finding the combination diet is working well although Bonnie wasn't too impressed at having kibble for breakfast instead of raw this week because I'd run out and didn't get chance to stock up again until yesterday !
She's now nearly regained the weight lost when she was ill (now 13.1kg) but suspect she won't be catching up with Stanley any time soon !
