Wilf was playing in the garden and then was rolling on ground with his paw in the air, whining.
Think he's been bitten or stung, but no idea by what. Have tried moving and feeling his joints, in case he's jarred anything, but seems fine/no pain when doing that.
Initially he wouldn't let us get anywhere near his leg, but we have managed to check between his pads and all around his paw and can't see or feel anything. He is keeping his paw lifted and licking it, and obviously in discomfort - he did manage to jump up onto the sofa though.
Advice?
Don't have any antihistamine in the house. Do an an anti inflammatory from the vet though (for muscle strain last week!).
Insect bite/sting - help please.

Re: Insect bite/sting - help please.
If its a sting, the anti-inflam may not do any good (not sure if same in dogs but in humans the inflammation of a sting is caused by histamine, so you need that)
If he's not particularly bothered, I wouldn't be overly worried, if he was going to have an allergic reaction, he'd have had it by now I think.

Thanks Bee. He's fallen asleep under the dining table - having limped there. Will see how it is in the morning but hopefully will have improved.

Re: Insect bite/sting - help please.
Well he seems as right as rain this morning, jumping on and off the bed, running down the stairs, in the garden sniffing ants (when will he learn!).
I did wrap his paw in a damp cloth which seems to take his mind off it, primarily as he had a damp cloth to lick!
Anyway, all seems well. Thanks for your advice.
