My little miniature schnauzer is now 7 1/2 years old. 2 years ago she went blind and developed cushins disease. Despite different medication, it did not help and made her worse having to cope with sudden blindness didn't help. We opted to keep her happy and loved without any medication and she has managed well despite the vet giving her 1 to 3 years to live. We are now just approaching 2 years and she has had developed a green discharge from her nose. The vet gave her antibiotics which didn't make any improvement. He said she probably has a very low immune system and despite another dose of them, still no improvement. She is happy enough, eats loads, sleeps a lot but we cannot get rid of her nose problem. I clean it every day to keep her comfortable. It hasn't got any worse but won't get better. Been 3 months now. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. I would be very interested to here all comments.
Thank you.....Sandra

Re: Green runny nose
If Hettie has a low immune system, you could try strengthening her system with a herbal supplement or homeopathic remedy. It is important to get professional advice as to the most appropriate things to try for Hettie personally and you should be able get advice by phone if you would like to try these.
Dorwest Herbs whose herbal remedies are licensed by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate are happy to advise on canine health conditions and do provide products to help boost health generally:

Helios and Ainsworths Homeopathic Pharmacies are also able to advise re canine health issues, if you do not have a homeopathic vet nearby:

https://www.ainsworths.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If Hettie was one of our dogs I would also be avoiding any products that might have a detrimental effect on her overall health / immune system which includes chemical worming treatments, flea treatments and vaccines - if you are not already doing this
There are a couple of other links here which may be of interest to you:

Good luck and I hope you can find something to help Hettie recover from the nasal discharge.
