On Facebook there are 7 registered, but that's just a very rough guide as we know that there will be people who will turn up for walks who are not on facebook to register. On normal walks, there's usually more people appear than expectedDylans staff wrote:Hi just wondering if we have an idea of numbers for the worcester walk. My daughter would like to make some doggie biscuits to sell towards DBARC. Should we have registeted for the walk somewhere? Im not very good with facebook. Also how far is the walk?

Like Bee Bee said, not too sure on numbers, we will just be happy not to be Billy No Mates, although if it came to that, we'd still get a nice walk ;)
This walk can be very flexible in terms of distance because it's made up of a number of sections. So, if you wanted to walk 15 minutes or an hour plus, that's entirely up to you. We thought we'd play it by ear, depending on what others feel like. It's not difficult walking, mostly flat across meadow/field and woodland paths, but could be a bit muddy after the recent rain.
We did try it out, so if you have any more questions, please shout
Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you there,
Alison

We'll aim to meet everyone in front of the visitor centre/cafe, unless we see/hear you in the car park first
We're getting very excited in our household and can't wait to meet everyone

Thanks Alison for organising a great walk. Dylan loved being able to run with all the other dogs and is now crashed out on the floor!! Thank you to everyone for buying Jess biscuits. She made £15 for DBARC. We will have to do it again

Sorry we were unable to come Ruby had her first vaccination on Thursday so still unable to go out for walks. Did consider carrying but poor pup would have wanted a wee at some point so not really advisable to bring her. Hope you all had a good day and we look forward to the next walk.

Hi Everyone,
Betty had a wonderful time and didn't mind at all that she was the only girl - think she held her own with all the boys and she loves the peanut butter biccies! I have uploaded some photos...I think everyone is able to just take a look in each other's folders aren't they?? Cant believe how well everyone has done in raising so much money! We are all looking forward to the next walk. Betty, Chris and Rob

Re: Schnauzerfest 2014 - Worcester Woods Country Park
This walk got off to a great start when OH & I arrived a bit early and were delighted to see a lady with 2 Schnauzers already sitting waiting outside the visitor centre. I went straight over, asked the dogs' names (Bertie & Archie), introduced my boys, told her mine & OH's names, she volunteered hers. We were swapping small talk when she said her husband would be back in a moment as he'd just finished the fun run
Turns out she wasn't there for the SF walk at all and must have thought I was a right nosey/batty person!!! Anyway, by the end she knew all about the forum and was invited to stay on for the walk but couldn't make it
Things got better after that, although I did make a point of checking if everyone else had indeed come for the walk .
From the comments already and our own experience, I think a good time was had by all and we agreed we should do another very soon. A few of today's group are strong possible contenders for Bristol tomorrow too.
Thank you to Carla (& Merlin) and Clare (& Wilf) for their donations on the day, which I'll be passing on
Also well done & thank you to Jess for her very professional biscuit baking and fund raising efforts, I'm sure we'll be seeing her on the Apprentice in a few years time
We took quite a few photos and I'll try to sort through and get a few onto here asap, with a link to the rest.
xx
