Well in the short term he'll be shown by my friend's daughter.
I'd already decided that I would need to wait for another Giant and that a medium-sized boy would fit in nicely with my lot.
Beardies are strong characters and I will definitely need that as a potential future leader of my group.
They are also very active dogs that suit my girls and easily trainable
So as such a good dog was on my doorstep I decided to take the plunge.
I will definitely be looking for another Giant girl in the future

Re: Introducing Arran
He's not from the mega-hairy show lines - his background is the old-fashioned lines with coats that are easily maintained.
His mum and grandmother have fantastic coats, when they get muddy you just let them dry and then hoover the floor as the mud just drops off. I didn't believe it until I saw it for myself

I didn't know there were different hair types. I think one of them is shown, but both of them get totally covered in sand The stripped coat on Barney everything drops off and when he gets dirty/wet and shakes its just damp. Unlike his legsblackgiant wrote:He's not from the mega-hairy show lines - his background is the old-fashioned lines with coats that are easily maintained.

Re: Introducing Arran
It's always amazed me how easy some dogs are to keep clean - even longer-coated breeds.
The show-coated Beardies would drive me mad as they are very high maintenance but the line I've chosen is very old-fashioned with an easier maintained coat. Unfortunately what you see mostly is Beardies with a show-type coat which puts a lot of people off.

Re: Introducing Arran
Oh he is beautiful and collies are so intelligent and beautiful. He looks like he has a nice big head which is good. You are right two giants are enough - mine just wind each other up to wind me up!!!
