question about my schnauzers new litter

hi
please can you tell me how old a puppy is when you are able to see if it is black and silver or salt and pepper ?
my bitch had a litter on 7th april so pups are 2 weeks old and she is black and silver and the father is salt and pepper.
someone told me that they will get a black patch behind their ears if they are black and silver but the puppies are black all over their head at the moment

just fyi i have been a breeder for 15 years but of yorkshire terriers and this is my first litter of schnauzers just in case my questions make you think i am clueless

I was told that if there is any colour on the ears the will ne S&P but if the ears are fully black they will be B&S

But I am not a breeder so could be talking bunkum ;)

yes i was told that as well but was unsure if they change as they get a little older
does anyone have any pictures of salt and pepper 2 week old pups they can post so i can compare
