Mabel wags her tail for the first time
Mabel has been with us for five and a half weeks now, and she was only rescued from a puppy farm nine days before that. She is doing really well and is slowly coming out of her shell. Yesterday morning, amid the frenzied greeting that I get from Archie and Isla, I thought I saw her little stumpy tail move slightly. This morning there was no doubt. Her first wag, and it was for me! So special.

That's great. There are quite a few members with "rescues" and I am sure they know exactly how you feel.

Lovely update...any new pics of Mabel? I'm interested in how her coat has changed in the time on a better diet and with your care.i but she's a different dog.

Re: Mabel wags her tail for the first time
I'm still trying to work out how to post photos. She's still quite brown, but much less so than before as so much has been cut off. I think that it it will all grow through in due course. After several baths she's feeling a lot less greasy and doesn't smell any more! The regular diet has also helped her bowels - we had some fairly spectacular explosions at the beginning, but nothing for a couple of weeks now - thank goodness! She certainly does seem like a different dog already, especially in the house. In the last week she has come out of her shell a lot, venturing onto the big hall basket with the other two instead of staying in her basket in the kitchen. Her whole body language is more dog-like. In fact, when FaceTiming my daughter, she had to do a double take as she thought for a moment that Mabel was Isla, just because of the way she was sitting up - all confident! Thanks for your interest.Robin black mini wrote:Lovely update...any new pics of Mabel? It's marvellous when they come out of their shells.
I remember applause in the park the first time she got more than two feet from me.
