Jasper's puppy days

The Miniature Schnauzer is a smallest dog in the Schnauzer breed and originated in the mid-to-late 19th Century from Germany. The Miniature Schnauzer is a cross between the Standard Schnauzer and other smaller breeds such as the Poodle. A miniature Schnauzer is a spunky, but aloof dog who does things their own way. They tend to be good guard dogs without the tendency to bite.

Gorgeous, I nearly missed these photos because my withdrawals are so bad, I didn't have the strength to remind you =)) He is turning into a handsome little man, just like Barney, are they related in any way?

Jaspers dad shares grandparents and great grandparents on maternal and paternal sides with Barneys dad. There's a couple of distant relatives on Jasper's mums side too. Me and OH met Jasper's dad independently and afterwards we both said he had temperament similar to Barney.

He's 11weeks today and has had his first on the ground walkabout

He's really changed shape this week. His snout as got longer and less puppified, his legs seem to have got even longer. Definately more schnauzer looking than westie =))

Gosh - he certainly has grown in the couple of weeks since I met him. Just as you say, longer snout and legs. He looks adorable Alison. You'll soon be past the nippy stage :)

Fab photos and the unmistakeable shape of a schnauzer, that leggy stage does make me smile, they suddenly arrive and wait for the rest of the body to catch up. Me thinks the girl done well getting this little boy. :)

He is turning into a very handsome little chap and definitely a Schnauzer. please keep the photos coming, it is so lovely to see how they progress. You are very lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world to be able to take walks by the sea every day is probably every bodys dream.

I do like walking on the beach but hate the sand afterwards it gets everywhere X(

We were on the beach the other day watching a preschool have a beach morning. Jasper was paddling about so of course sand stuck to his wet fur. We the went to the beach kiosk for coffee and dog biscuit. He decided my knee was his place at the café. I got soaked, dirty as well as covered in sand =))

They always like to get on your lap when they are either wet or dirty or both, in my experience =))

It is wonderful though taking a puppy out and about in the early months and seeing their joy at new experiences. I remember years ago taking our new mini schnauzer puppy to Westonbirt Arboretum and he was so overwhelmed with the new scents that he went running along, nose to the ground, making little snorting noises in delight :-)

Oh so true. This was the following day after a dry walk. Didn't want to come on my knee at all =)) was happy people watching

We had a lovely outing to an agricultural show yesterday. Loads of things going on, Steam engines making lots of racket, shire horses, lots of dogs, children, smells, tractors. Jasper took it all in his stride lots of people stroking some asking to hold him, children giving him treats and he had his first taste of Guernsey ice cream.

A few people commented that he was very calm for a 12 week old puppy. If only they could see the Tasmanian devil we have at home =))

What beautiful pictures :)

I especially like the one where he is having a rest by the tractor and what a perfect way of socialisation, a country/agricultural show.

I went to our local pet-shop yesterday to stock up on food for our pooches and the Manager asked when we would be adding a 3rd - I mentioned Jasper and Monty and said any "3rd" would just have to be a white mini :D
