I've been going backwards and forwards to UK a lot recently due to my Mums declining health. Sadly she lost her battle against cancer on Fri 13th Sep I had to stay at my Mums house on my own that weekend as I had to register her death before I came back. No other close family as my Dad and Sister have both passed away in the past few years. My Mums neighbour ( who should be awarded neighbour of the year for helping my Mum) has a staffie called Holly.
Their gardens interconnect so Holly wonders between the two. On the Fri afternoon when I returned to the house Holly knew something wasn't right. She's always friendly but she just wouldn't leave me even when her Mum went home she stayed. All through the weekend id hear her come and whine at the door to come in. She'd then just stay for strokes or just follow me around. She didn't want to go home when her Mum came to get her and would come to me instead of her Mum when called. She was just the therapy I needed and she knew it. Dogs are so amazing. I think her Mum was pleased I came back so she could have her dog back
Jasper is coming over with us when it's the funeral. Should be an interesting encounter
Here she is
She made herself at home

Re: My new friend Holly
So sad to hear about your Mum's passing
That is very touching reading about Holly. Dogs can be so naturally intuitive they are the best therapy in so many circumstances.
