Hi,
We live in NZ and are soon to pick up our baby Mini Schnauzer. We want to crate train her (very popular over here) so she enjoys her own 'den' and will sleep in it and play with her toys in there when we have to leave her for short periods.
My question is what size crate should we be looking for?

With our pups we have the crate just for overnight sleeping and use a playpen during the day with more space for them to move around and play with toys. If you are just using the one crate for both, you would need a larger size and probably one that will accommodate an adult mini. This could be a ‘medium’ size with dimensions 76 x 53 x 59 centimetres. There is a chart here that may help:
