Loose tooth

Post by Diesel_16 »

Hi, I took my two to the groomers today to have their teeth cleaned by ultrasonic. All went well except they said my boy had a loose tooth that they could not clean. My question is: who is the best person to take a look at this? I assume the vets, but will they just take it out? What has been anyone else’s experience with this?
FYI he has just turned 7 years old.
Thank you

I would take him to the vet to have it checked. You are right that most likely they will remove it but they should give you more details of why it has become loose and also whether there is an option to keep it. The problem is that if the tooth is loose in the socket it can lead to bacteria building up causing pain and infection so removal may be the best option but do have it checked by a vet.
