I am not sure whether it is still going since the COVID restrictions affected so many group walks. I haven’t heard anything about one this year but others on the Forum may know :-\

I have just heard that the NSC Fun Day has been cancelled for this year :( Sadly one of the reasons was a lack of interest in the event.
I was looking forward to meeting other minis and their families. Lets hope it might go ahead in future.

Yes - that’s right. It is very sad news and hope it does return next year.

I think a number of factors may have affected this and some other events this year from rising costs of petrol for travelling and the aftermath of COVID restrictions with some people still wary of social gatherings. There are still local schnauzer walks in different parts of the country so it might be worth trying to see if there is anything in your area. Not the same as a Fun Day of course but could be a chance to get to meet other schnauzers and their families :)

I don’t know for certain if non-members can attend. At the NSC day you could just pay extra for the ticket if you weren’t a member. It might be worth giving them a call or email to ask:

Breed club events tend to be outside of London to allow those club members living around the U.K. to have a more central and accessible venue for shows and fun days. You could contact the clubs to enquire but, if you are just wanting to meet up with other schnauzer families and their dogs for a get together / walk / picnic then it could be best to try and set one up via Facebook or other social media.

Our village in Yorkshire has a monthly dog walk although this is not a schnauzer event but there are many small schnauzer groups who do organise get togethers in all different parts of the country - there may already be one in the London area. If you are on FB, I would check out the schnauzer groups to see if any cover the right area for you and ask if anyone has a meet-up organised or just create an event yourself on one of the schnauzer sites. The Northern Schnauzer Club does cover the whole of Britain in terms of membership and they do have a Facebook page too. You could ask on that if there are schnauzer families in London who may want to meet up with their dogs.

If you are looking though for a more structured formal ‘fun day’ you will have to travel outside London and many schnauzer families do so for these breed club events :)
