Thanks

Puppy classes are really good. It helps socialise them. Have a look at this website, it might point you in the right direction.

You could have a look on the ADPT website for classes listed near you. :) I'd advise to go to a class before hand to see how they teach, as puppy classes are meant to be fun and sometimes a conflict of opinions on how to train can ruin that. :c

Yes it's important to go and observe a lesson first, we encourage it at our training centre. Good luck.

Am happy to travel if it's the right place for Barney.

I want him to mix with as many other pups and dogs as possible. He's been meeting lots of people both adults and children, and has been very good.
I also want him to be a well behaved boy so I need training too on how to train him!

The right place is so important, my first puppy class was maddness and it did nothing for me or Jasper I never went back, in the end I socialised him in the park, where he met tones of dogs in what I felt was a more natural enviroment than a slippery noisy hall on a lead. Good luck finding a good one Barney and Claire it sounds like the right one can be sooo much fun. (party)

If Dannie says it's a good un make the effort to go -you won't regret it!

Good to hear you know that a puppy class is to train you and socialise the dog.
Cara and Mo, two black mini's and Molly a black & white Heinz 57 all served by Elaine, the cook, poop picker, and chief toy thrower.

Claire,
I tried to pm you but i am having troubles again with the pm facility, anyway lessons are na hour and a half and i think about £13-a bit pricey I know but i have not found another school as comprehensive or that rivals it anywhere (hence my hour journey home each weekend to go dog training!) You will need to book 6 or 12 week blocks but if you give them a call you can go to the introduction day and see what its all about, the training is all outside on a secure fenced couple of fields and training comprises of obedience, agility for older dogs, tracking and other various tasks. telephone number: 01462 735500

Enjoy the fact that you have choices.
And yes, if you can look at a class before joining...and paying!...do so.
