New domain name

In the event that we cannot resolve the current issue with the domain name schnauzer-forum.co.uk, I need to start considering alternatives.

The domain name schnauzers.co.uk is for sale, but the price tag is £395, so unless we can get 80 members to chip in a fiver, it's not going to happen. Unless of course, someone knows the person who owns it and will they part with it for free or less money. http://webwhois.nic.uk/cgi-bin/webwhois ... mit=Lookup

I have thought of a few in the poll. If you think of any others, please add them and I can take a look.

I hope you are able to find a good solution Dean - I've voted.

I wonder if the forum would consider the sponsor option? Another forum I belong to has a scheme whereby members may contribute on a sliding scale and become "silver" "gold" or "diamond" sponsors - this is voluntary but presumably enough dosh is then in the kitty to pay for expenses such as you mention. This other forum also has advertising revenue which I don't know if the forum has considered or not.

I have voted on a new name but would be willing to give more than a fiver to get the Domain for sale ;)

Jen said pretty much what I wanted to say.

There is also the option of schnauzer.co.uk (without the s on the end) as owned by;

Would this be another option?

Has anybody contacted the Northern Schnauzer Club? It would seem that whoever owns our domain, owns theres as well? Would that be any use?
