What would a breeder consider to be a no-no ?

Post by Lipgloss »

Well Grovelea, if you don't want to put the question forward - I will- (laugh).
I have generalised the question more to everything in breeding.
Obviously for me breeding with a dog or/and a bitch which I knew had a genetic illness is a big NO,NO. Then ofcourse I wouldn't breed with a bitch that has had more than 2 caesarians (up til recently it was actually allowed in our club)-
I would never breed with a bitch that was too young (under 15 months) or too old (older than 8 years)- there are lines you have to draw.

Hmm, well if you take a bitch of standard size there shouldn't be a problem. But you are right, too small or too big actually- we don't want our minis becoming maxis. (laugh)

Hi,
Yes agree, wouldn't breed from a bitch under 13", also wouldn't breed from a bitch over 15".. I find bitches are naturally slighty longer in back than dogs. If long in back, not so good for the show ring, but find whelping is easier.

It was an Austin Maxi; Gordon had one when we were dating. It floated around the road like an anebriated blancmange.

The person I'm getting my Giant from, who shall not be named, says uncleared cheques are a big no-no !!

3 weeks, 6 days and counting !!!!!!!! [bone]

On behalf of the "mug" pet owners, are you guys serious or just joking around??
This is a serious question as I don't know whether the problems you are talking about are common or not.
