Black Standard female - 18mths needs forever home
Due to personal reasons and not having enough time to devote to our family pet, we have come to the decision to re-home her. She is a 18mth old black standard schnauzer (although a bit on the smaller side for a standard).
She is a very wilful, stubborn, noisy (her barking can drive you insane at times) and intelligent youngster who is also very affectionate, playful and adorable. She requires a daily walk of 1-1 1/2 hours to expend energy and can be boisterous if she is not exercised properly. She has such a great character and she gives back as much love as she is shown and loves to snuggle up for a cuddle. She loves her daily training (as long as a treat is at hand) and can sit, stay, down, roll-over and we've started on commando, she also loves a game of 'find-it'. Her recall is great off lead and loves socialising with other dogs but she can be a bit scared of bigger dogs than herself. At the park she loves a game of rugby! (don't ask but it's how we trained her so well in the recall).
You can imagine, it hasn't been an easy decision to make (heart broken) but one I think would be better for her.
She has been neutered, micro-chipped, fully up to date with vaccinations and has been wormed in the past month. We are based in Essex.
She needs a forever home with a family who can give her all the attention she needs, along with lovely long daily walks (off lead is best), she may even benefit from having a little doggie companion.
Please respond to this post, leaving your contact details if you think you may fit the bill and I will contact you personally. I will ask to meet any potential owners and have you visit her at my home.
Sorry to sound so fussy but it has to be right for you and her.
Thank you

Have you spoken to her breeder yet? Many breeders in their contracts will expect to be contacted if one of their dogs needs rehoming and may well have someone suitable as a home.

Re: Black Standard female - 18mths needs forever home
Hi BBG, I PM back - did you get it as it is sitting in my outbox... being new here I am not sure that how it works!
Thank you for both of your replies
I have indeed contacted the breeder but she recommended that I contact an organisation called 'Blue Cross' which rehome by vetting potential owners but keeping the dog in their own home until it goes to the new family.
To say it's been a tough week, would be an understatement.
I have contacted all the schnauzer clubs, only the Northern club has got back to me so far. I am hoping by putting feelers out on these websites, a well informed person would come forward as you have to really know what you are getting yourself into when you own a a schnauzer! But they are wonderfully intelligent and Ruby is so affectionate - we love her to bits.
If you do know of anywhere else I could contact, please let me know as it is very important to find the right home for as long as it takes.
Thank you again, Michelle xx

Hi, I am very interested in your buying dog. My wife is used to Jack Russells we have 2 kids and a largish garden with some good walks very near. I don't know if this is an email or to be published so I won't say anymore until I work out what to do with this forum.

Hi Michelle & Kevin, welcome to the forum
Michelle, sorry to hear that you are having to re-home your girl Sad that the breeder isn't being very helpful too But good for you for trying to get the best home for her
PM's do sit in the outbox until the recipient reads it.
Kevin, lovely as it is for you to offer Ruby a home, a standard is a very different prospect to a jack russell so do your research ;) If you are still interested send Michelle a pm using the pm button under her name. It will alert her by email to come on the forum to read it

Re: Black Standard female - 18mths needs forever home
Hi
I am writing on behave of Colin who is a two year old standard. He is in need of a friend, but not inter-mate type as he has been seen too.
He lives close to Pembrey beach and loves the long walks we take him on there. We would very much like to look Ruby as we have had 4 other schnauzers and understand there needs. We would be happy to travel to collect/meet. We are very willing and able to look after Ruby and would be happy to keep in touch if you wanted. I hope we are not to late.
Best Regards
Mark

Hi everyone,
I am hopeful we have found a perfect match for Ruby as I have been in touch with Colin's family. They are meeting soon and I think they will get on like a house on fire! They are very, very similar.
I will keep you all posted but in the meantime I will not be taking any more enquiries until Colin and Ruby have met.
Thank you

It sounds like Colin and his 4 Schnuazer Friends will love having another playmate I hope you will hang around the forum and let us know how you get on ;)
So pleased that it looks as though things will work out for Ruby I am sure you will be sad to let her go but how wonderful will it be for her to have playmates ;)MichelleT wrote:Hi everyone,

Colin say hi
We to are looking forward to Saturday when we meet ruby for the first time. I have never been on a blind date so this is a first.
I will let you know how we get on.
Unbelievable Colin and ruby come from the same breeder so could be related!!
How weird is that?
Regards Colin's dad
