Re: Missing standard schnauzer
That is amazing, I so hope it is him and he makes his way home.
I remember reading on some doglost cases that if you know they are in an area you can try cooking sauasages or bacon on a disposable bbq so that the smell will carry and linger over a large distance. Good luck and do keep updating dogslost and see if you can get people to help search, i just wish I was closer. Fingers and paws crossed for you

Re: Missing standard schnauzer
We have been out all weekend looking for Jax, but still no sign of hm. I would like to thank the dog walkers, horse riders and farmers in the TN8 area for their support and for keeping an eye out for our boy. Happy Christmas to one and all and here's to Jax's safe return to his family.

Re: Missing standard schnauzer
We have been out over the xmas and new year period looking for Jax. I think we have covered every public footpath and bridle way in the area. Still no sign of him, but we are trying to stay positive that he will be sighted or found. Here's to a happier 2014.

Re: Missing standard schnauzer
jax is still missing. He was sighted in december and we have been searching the area when we can. I contacted the people that sighted him and emailed them some photos. They are 90% sure it is him so we are now very optimistic that if we keep looking for him, our luck will change?

Re: Missing standard schnauzer
What area was he sighted? How large is it? Would it be worth organising a search party/walk to see if he could be flushed out one weekend? Lots of people, lots of dogs?Chezwinn wrote:jax is still missing. He was sighted in december and we have been searching the area when we can. Re: Missing standard schnauzer
Hi Maty, Jax was sighted in the TN8 7HJ area. which is right in the middle of farm land and difficult to get to. We are going to leave some clothing with my scent on them in the area he was seen, and hopefully he will pick up the scent and stay locally. With any luck he will be around when we go back on Saturday and Sunday? I have been speaking to a dog behaviorist who says he is probably scared and staying away from people, so leaving some clothing may help him think that we are around. Trying everything we can think of to get our boy back. Thanks for your support and suggestions.

Re: Missing standard schnauzer
As Jax has not been seen we have advertised in the local paper which comes out today, http://www.courier.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Hopefully this will be seen by more people and the word will get around even more.
I am positive he is still out there, we just don't know where, so hopefully he will be seen and we can go and get him. I now have the number for a dog tracker, so if he is seen, we can get straight on to looking for him.
