Remembering Reggie 26/08/00 - 19/03/14

Saying goodbye to our Schnauzers is the hardest part. Share your memories here as we bid farewell to our beloved friends. They've crossed the bridge and returned to the meadow in full health and free of injuries. Running free. We won't forget.

Remembering Reggie 26/08/00 - 19/03/14

Post by Richard42 »

He may be gone but will never ever be forgotten. He was the most loving dog we have ever had and was never any trouble. Even as a pup he never chewed anything and was loved by everybody he met. We were devastated having to have him pts but we couldn't let him suffer anymore with the tumor on his lung. He has left a massive hole in our life and will always have a special place in our heart. As a special tribute to him I will be getting him tattooed on my chest in the next few months.Image

His final resting place in front of the fire, just where he liked to be.

So very sorry you have lost your special boy Reggie. Sounds like he was a great companion and he would have enjoyed a good life with you and your family. It is so hard to let these little dogs go, breaks your heart, nothing ever prepares you for letting them go and how you deal with your emotions afterwards, I know how tough it is as we lost our little girl last year, it is still so raw a year on. I had a tribute tattoo done in memory of our little girl, not a portrait but a floral design. Hold on to all the special memories of happy times with Reggie. Thinking of you xxx

It's so sad. I think anyone who loves their dogs like we do here, really do understand the grief. Friends without dogs try to, but really never get the depth of feeling we have. I joined the forum soon after losing our lovely old lady, Jasmine and haven't looked back as through the forum I found our 2 special girls, Twinkle and Susie-Belle who joined Renae, named in honour of Jasmine (Renee means to be reborn), I hope you do manage to remember Reggie with us all here.

You will never forget your lovely Reggie as we will never forget our special Toby. In time your grief will get less painful and your memories will keep you going.
The knowledge and experience Toby gave us helped us be better parents for Roxy who is a standard. She is quite different but reminds us of Toby in many ways and that has been comforting.
We have a model similar to yours which we bought in memory of Toby. We kept his ashes as we couldn't part with them so he is staying warm and dry in our bedroom.
Sending warm thoughts to you at this difficult time.

Sorry for your loss - he was a good age and glad you have many special memories to cherish. It was my intention to spread my previous mini's ashes along one of her favourite walks (as we'd done for our earlier dog) but somehow I felt her saying she wanted to stay with me so now they're safely under my bed, as close to me as she used to be when she was alive which I found to be a great comfort.
