Re: Sad news for Susie-Belle
Really sad for you all going through this. Sounds like you are doing the best you can for her and she will continue to let you know in her own way what she needs from you. She is stoic and such a sweet little dog that deserves every bit of pleasure and care that you provide. Thinking of all of you all. We went to Studland bay as we were on holiday nearby for this Schnauzerfest and Roxy ran with Brannock, Wookey Wilf, Lizzie and about 20 other famous mini schnauzers. It is wonderful to hear that Susie-Belle was able to experience that with her sisters, even if she went in her her bag. Hope to meet you all again one day.

Re: Sad news for Susie-Belle
Thanks again everyone for your kind thoughts and words for Susie-Belle, I have to say, she's in fighting form right now. The medications are clearly working for the time being. She's still getting us up twice a night as she's peeing for England and drinking a lot still, but not nearly as much.
We're back to the vet on Monday to see what's what, he may start to reduce her steroid dosage, but its a balance between it doing what he wants it to do, and keeping the side effects to an acceptable level (excessive drinking was one of the main symptoms and apparently does indicate her tumour is lymphoma, but the steroids will also make her drink more). Our main thing is we want her to be content, we can put up with disturbed nights so long as she's happy. Which she certainly is.
She's eating more than she ever has which is quite a statement, for our Susie-belle is notoriously greedy even without steroids!
We're coming to the end of a nice break in France, the weather has been superb, really gorgeous day today. She's been out each day wanting to walk and all the time she's showing her usual interest in life, I stop myself thinking beyond that. (well almost manage to stop most of the wandering mind).
Some favourite pictures from the last week.

Re: Sad news for Susie-Belle
It's been 3 weeks since Susie-Belle's diagnosis and we went to the vet yesterday and she's doing great He was pleased with how well she's responded to the medication, we're going to start to reduce the dose to minimise the side effects, while keeping her feeling well and slowing the tumour. So, all in all right now, this morning, we're happy. It is a day by day journey, it always has been really, since she came to us, and that's how we'll keep it.
Thanks again for all your well wishes, it really does help to know so many people care about her.
