Hi
I have reserved a miniature schnauzer puppy and went to see him the other day, noticed he still has his back dew claws, Iam hoping to show but have never done before, are they allowed with back dew claws or would he get marked down with them?
Thanks

Re: Back dew claws
Many show breeders of miniature schnauzers will arrange to have puppies dew claws removed at a few days old but in terms of showing a dog there is no penalty for having the dew claws present.
It is not a fault that would cause a dog to be marked down

Re: Back dew claws
I believe they are removed as a precaution against having them caught and then bleeding whilst being groomed
