Safe Dog Play Parks

Found a nice dog coat? Found a cozy pub that's Schnauzer friendly or even a Schnauzer friendly B&B. Feel free to share it here. Basically anything that we would want to buy for our Schnauzer goes here.

Safe Dog Play Parks

Post by zeta1454 » 07 Aug 2018, 12:34

There are a growing number of places now where you can book a secure dog park / field for a set amount of time to exercise or train your dog / dogs off lead with no worries about other dogs coming up to them or being aggressive, or about your own dog/s if they are reactive / noisy / need somewhere to train without distractions. It is worth checking in your own area as to whether there is a facility like this within easy driving distance if you feel your dog could benefit.

We currently have four extra miniature schnauzers staying with us ( pups we have bred in past years) and yesterday we took them along with our own three minis for an hour's play off lead in a local dog play park. It was luckily quite cool that morning although there is some shade in the field and the dogs had a brilliant time playing together in a bigger space than our own garden.

This is the link to the one we visited but there are others in Yorkshire and elsewhere:

Here are some photos too :)

It's a great idea..wish there were more over here! We have enclosed areas in the city parks, but I won't go in when there is a pit bull and an owner on a telephone..
I have to comment on the lovely uniformity of your breeding...each and every one in the pic are a compliment to your breeding.I do hope you return to breeding mini schnauzers again one day.

It does look like fun; if in the UK, it's worth 'googling' "Safe Dog Play Parks" as I found this site: https://www.dogwalkingfields.co.uk/ and when searching for my postcode, found a couple of fields that were enclosed that you could pay to use.

So worth checking out :)

Jo - thank you for your kind comments re our dogs. We did always do all we could to breed quality, healthy miniature schnauzers and, having kept in touch with all the families who have had a pup (or more) from us, all seem to be doing really well :-)

Thanks for the link, Mike - that's useful.

Some places may not be listed on this though - none of the ones near us seemed to be on it - so if anyone does draw a blank via that website, you could try googling "dog field for hire / rent" in your own area (or something similar) as well which might bring up others too.
