Introducing Angel Star

Post by BeeBee »

When we lost Twinkle last July I knew we'd adopt another one day. I wasn't in a hurry and thought when the right dog came along I'd know it. I actually thought we'd adopt a local mongrel, the shelters are full of wonderful dogs here all deserving of a home and still with 3 schnauzers I thought I was ready to expand my horizons =))

However, fate stepped in and in November, Renae and I made a trip up through France back to England, and brought Angel Star home to live in SW France. The trip was exciting for me, I haven't used a ferry for year, always opting for the Tunnel. But I wanted to cut down the driving time for Angel, as I wasn't at all sure I'd let her out for a pee stop on the drive south. She hadn't ever walked on a lead at that point and was human wary and my priority was to keep her secure and get back home in the safest way. So we used the Brittany Ferries overnight dog friendly cabin option - I'd recommend, very easy, organised and Renae, me and Angel got on just fine.

Angel is breeding dog from a puppy farm, 5 years old, never lived in a home, or with humans. She's adapted brilliantly to her new world. She has an eagerness to get on and enjoy life. She teaches me once again that all dogs are unique and to have no expectations as she has blown them all away!
She grows in confidence every day. Loves to be on the move, her walks are the total highlight of each day for her. She is almost always out in front - Susie-Belle, Twinkle and Cerise didn't naturally do this, in fact Cerise is still rarely ahead of us, preferring to hang back. Albert and Angel are often found together, mischief making seems to be their daily drive.

As soon as she arrived it was like she was always here, she slotted in without drama, the others accepted her and she makes Michel and I smile all the time. She's been through the wringer in her 5 years in the world, but she is not allowing any of that to hold her back now. A few favourite photos:

She is adorable and how lucky she is to be able to enjoy life at last.

She does, they all do, all funny little characters in their own ways and together they combine into one great big smile provider.

I have to say the ears were a big attraction - instant love for one with a bit of an ear fetish =))

Thanks. It’s still a bit raw for us, she was the closest I’d ever been to one of my girls and I miss hear dearly.

But we have another that still needs our love.
